Explain to me the difference. Humans are animals, no? Just smarter than the rest. Young humans aren't that intelligent and yet we don't keep them locked up inside all day since it wouldn't be healthy. Cats are meant to be outside for the most part.
Again, I will say that our cats have never caused problems (by that I mean we've never had any complaints from any of our neighbors about our cats when I was living at home) so this is why I don't understand the Nazi mentality about cats being kept indoors. I find pigeons annoying but I don't shoot them when they land on the bird bath outside.
