I don't usually wish bad things upon others but I sure as hell hope you have a child who is just doing his own thing and wanders into someone's front yard and something bad happens.

Under your exact same logic this makes sense.

I don't get why you all have these sticks up your asses about animals like they've ever harmed you. I've never come across any domestic animal to cause problems, be it our own, our neighbors, or even a stray.

Edit: Sorry for the harshness of this. I just had my wisdom teeth out and the bleeding isn't stopping and I'm in a shitload of pain. I just don't understand some of the attitudes especially because we've always kept all of our cats under great control so from my personal experience I can't even begin to relate.

Good.

keep your pest inside.

No.

Stop being an asshole.

He's an asshole for not wanting random pets walking around his neighborhood alone? Cats get into trash, dart out into roads, etc. If you want a pet, keep it inside, in a fenced in yard, or on a leash.

No, he's being an asshole by saying "good".

damn straight. my neighborhood is over run with domestic and feral cats. its stupid cat owners like the OP that i have scratch marks on both of my cars from the damn cats jumping on them. Its owners like the OP that the outside of my house fucking stinks like cat piss from the bastards spraying. its owners like the OP who turned my wifes flower bed into a stinking litter box. Its owners like the OP that caused this problem. If i didnt live in town i would shoot every damn cat that came onto my property. Im sick of them and the problems they cause.

so yea GOOD im glad it got trapped and taken out of circulation.

I'll be sure to extend the same courtesy when I find a roaming dog or some owner pooping the damn thing on my lawn. Or a deer. Or a squirrel.

Oh wait, no I wont, because I'm not an ass.

With the energy you could spend killing and then disposing of the cats, you could just catch them and turn them over to a shelter. They'll generally be easy to trick into approaching you, just put it in a cage and turn it over. Unless you actually LIKE acting like an ass?

Grow up.

county shelter DOES NOT WANT THEM.

you grow up and start being a good neighbor and keep your pest inside.

Like ass they don't, you never checked.

I do keep my pets indoors, BTW (not just because I'm polite, but also to protect them from microwave-happy dicks). I'm simply stating that you're being a jerk about this.

Cats are outdoor animals. They don't cause any harm. The only risk is that they will get killed. We used to live out in the country and had quite a few outdoor cats. They would disappear from time to time (sometimes upward of a few weeks), and then just reappear. Sometimes they would never come back.

If a stray cat would start harrassing our cats on our property, we would shoot it. I assume if someone found our cats harrassing theirs on their property, they would do the same thing. Thats just the risk of having an outdoor animal.

 to all those saying he is a bad neighbor for having an outdoor cat. Grow up. It's not like they run around like dogs and attack other animals/people. Oh, and BTW, I hate cats.

Trapping cats? My wife managed to do that once when she set a trap for a possum. The apple and peanut butter bait wasn't working, so she decided to try tuna fish instead! I released the poor cat immediately.

I suspect it's more likely that your cat was killed by some other wild animal. We were "adopted" by a neighborhood cat that suddenly stopped coming by. I'm pretty sure that a coyote caught him. I recently saw a coyote trotting down the sidewalk one early morning (and we live in suburbia).

God I love people who think they're entitled to let their pets roam around everyone else's property.

It seems like the only people that say cats dont cause any harm are the cat owners, I think the bias speaks for itself. Also, I dont think anyone here actually wants to murder cats that people have as pets, they dont want to be put in that type of situation in the first place.

Also, you lived in the country, that is a whole different set of rules out there.

Which was 10 years ago. Since then I have not owned any cats, and have lived in both cities and suburbs, and never had a problem with a cat, even though I see them all over the place. I do kind of miss being out in the middle of nowhere where I could just shoot things though.

wrong they do a lot of harm. cats hunting local birds have a huge impact on the eco system. wasnt it last year a town in the NW wanted to have a feral cat hunt in some local park because the feral cats have wiped out the birds?

the scratches on my car from them jumping on it is damage enough. not to mention the smell of their damn spray.

On the flip side, I am a cat owner and I don't want anyone else's cats on my property because I don't want their cats affecting my cats in any way. If I didn't own a cat I would probably be LESS biased against cats being allowed to roam.

Under your exact same logic this makes sense.

Don't use analogies. They almost never work.

Explain to me the difference. Humans are animals, no? Just smarter than the rest. Young humans aren't that intelligent and yet we don't keep them locked up inside all day since it wouldn't be healthy. Cats are meant to be outside for the most part.

Again, I will say that our cats have never caused problems (by that I mean we've never had any complaints from any of our neighbors about our cats when I was living at home) so this is why I don't understand the Nazi mentality about cats being kept indoors. I find pigeons annoying but I don't shoot them when they land on the bird bath outside.

Where I live, we don't let 4 year olds wander around the neighborhood unsupervised either. And if a 13 year old intrudes on my lawn against my will and I don't like it, I will in fact take action.

honestly, humans should rejoice that the only cats they see walking around taking a tiny poop in their yard (that they never even set foot in because they are watching tv) are small tame cats. we've wiped the north american continent of all real cats and bred some friendly ones to keep us company (in case our power goes out and we can't watch tv).

be glad you've never had your 4 year old eaten by a leopard, and let the little kitty eat your food garbage ya wasteful, hateful fucks :)
