I think someone trapped my cat.....

He usually is at the front door waiting to come in before I go to bed but I couldn't find him anywhere last night. When I woke up this morning I walked around our house and he was no where. I'm thinking there is a guy that is trapping cats and he might of got into one :(.

Last time that happened to me, my cat was missing for 3 days, then we found it dead. :(

Indeed. It is a cruel world out there OP. Sorry about losing your kitty, but he is not equipped to survive in the urban jungle.

So you are aware of a person who is trapping cats in your neighborhood yet you choose to still let your cat roam outdoors? Do you not particularly care about the cat? You're going to get at least 50 posts telling you not to leave the cat outdoors anyway.... but jeez, if you know someone is trapping cats and still choose to leave it outdoors?

One of my cats got out one night because of some stupid asshole friends who didn't know how the fuck to close a door. He was outside for 3 1/2 days. He came back in the middle of the night while I was trying to sleep, and kept meowing and batting at my window until I let him in. He's an indoor cat, and he survived in a neighborhood full of big dogs, and retarded suburban drivers. So there's some hope for you! :)

Maybe a dog owner is like you and lets his dog roam the neighborhood doing whatever the fvck it wants. Then maybe said dog ate your said cat.

If you had let it out accidentaly, then I hope you get it back, but apparently you let it out like so many other stupid cat owners.

i also do not like stray cats. but i am not crazy enough to catch them with malicious ambitions. hope you get your cat back and never let him roam again.

Do you live in a urban, rural or in/around a wooded area?
Have neighbors been talking about missing animals lately?

If you live near a forest with rabbits, it could be that someone has carelessly set snares close to where you live. You should look around for anything out of place - like high visibility ribbon or used shotgun shells - , this is a common method to mark the location of snares as they can be EXTREMELY difficult to see. Snares will most often be placed on heavily used "rabbit leads" at a choke point where the rabbit can not walk around it.

If you live in a rural/urban area, go for a walk along the roads and have a look in the ditches as people will sometimes toss dead cats into ditches.

Give it some time.
Its not uncommon for outdoor cats to roam the area for several days before returning.
Especially if the cat is a male.

I had one that disappeared for almost two weeks, then just showed up one morning at the back door.

Edit:
I see people complaining about leaving cats outside.
In a rural area , its very very common.
Nothing wrong with it.
The cats are happy and often they stay in the back yard, or in the woods behind the house.
They aren't like dogs and really do stay close to home all on their own.
