I think I made a Ricer Cry-

Haha. Funny thing happened a couple days ago, and due to the abundance of "rice-hating" here I felt I should post my story.

I drive an old beat-up 1990 Volkswage Jetta. Now it runs pretty well, but you can't get more stock than this. When I bought this car I never though about doing any racing and still don't do any racing. It doesn't look the greates either. The driver fender is pretty beat up, as well that side of the bumper. Its dirty, and is just my commuter car. I take care of the engine and what not, but I could care less about how "pretty" it is.

Now for the story, I will try to make it as short as possible.

I pulled up to a Four-Way Intersection that had Stop SIGNS (not lights). My side of the road had two lanes and I was in the right lane. A couple seconds later this Honda pulls up next to me. This was as riced as I have seen, 20 foot wing, big wheels, and yup, he had a bunch of stickers on his windows. Now the last thing from my mind was "race". You see, if a car drives straight from the Stop Sign the right lane eventually ends and goes into a one lane road. It was MY turn to go and the Honda next to me takes off going straight as well. I figured what the hell, this dude may smoke my ass but I might as well try. So I gun my peice o' crap Jetta, we were neck and neck for a good couple seconds but I actually pulled away and passed him and basically beat him. I knew he was trying to just the way he was driving. Yes it was close, but I still beat him.....he must have felt pretty dumb realizing that stickers don't make a car go faster and he was just beat by a POS Dirty Ol' Jetta!

HEll yeha dude!! Jetta's are awesome! I used to own one, it was great before some girl wrecked it. It wasn't my fault, I swear. :)

Were you driving a 5 speed, and him an automatic? ;)

BWAHAHA!!!! All the parasitic drag from the wing and stickers probably slowed him down. Hint to ricers: rearward down force ain't good for FWD family sedans.

Craphead- probably, lol. I do have a 5-speed. I just thought it was quite funny, because although I love my car, it doesn't have mcuh power at all.

Huh? Racist? Yeah, I am racist against all the idiots who think stickers make their cars go faster.

Yes, I am a ricist. I am certainly NOT a RACIST!

Loogie- Um, yes. I thought I made that clear. Sorry, sometimes I just seem to ramble too much. I rarely race for the fact that my car sux....but I had to try this time, and I came out ahead :D

You know Ricers have a great product when everybody's ego gets inflated when they race them. :D

funny as it is.. but he may have let you pass..
as you said lane was ending on the other side...
I would let the other person pass if it was coming so close.

nope, I was pretty sure he didn't let me pass him. I guess he could have, but just the way it happened didn't seem like he did.

that's pretty amazing.. i drove my friend's Jetta for about a month when he left country for a vacation, and i did like the comfort and all but it was no way in hell FAST!

I mean it drove well and had great sound system so i enjoyed driving it, but it was even slower then my neon or maxima.

I guess that other car was not tuned right. adding all those things in wrong places will actually decrease the performance alot. It even happens to pros. If u see some of the suped up cars in megazines (for example TRD Celica vs Celica GTS) even with better wheels and tuned everything, it was slower then celica GTS and worse in everyway, for more money.

Well, it doesn't help that base engine accords and civics are really underpowered, especially off the line. My accord has zero power below 4k rpms.
