I think I am starting to lose my hair :(

Does rogaine really work for preventive purpose?
My hair is thinning out at an exponential rate.
I am seriously going to cry, I am only 21.

I'm 22 and mine's been heading back for a couple years now.

I'm just going to let it do its thing and not try to fight it. I'll shave it off before I do a comb-over.

i know that hair loss comes from your mom's dad. thats why your cousins on your dads side still have hair.

I don't think hairloss is a sex-linked trait. The mom's father thing isn't accurate. Granted it may happen that way, but it can come from the father's side too.

all my friends with receding hairlines shave their heads. think about it, it's not a bad look imho. what's your facial hair situation? again, bald with a goatee or soul patch isn't that bad. i'd consider shaving my head but my hairline is ok for now. *knock on wood*.

hehe...join the club...my hair started receding when I was 19...but it has basically stopped...I'm 23, almost 24 now, and it has stayed the same for the last 2 years. Hopefully ;fingers crossed; it will stay where it is at...

Get used to it is the best advice. Why fight a completely losing battle against nature? Cut it short, or live with the visible baldness. Myself, I knew I was screwed no matter where the genes come from ... my Dad is bald, and my Mom's Dad was a cueball baldy. I sport the shaved head, as much out of comfort/lack of maintenance as to diminish my baldness. 😉

you'd be gorgeous with/without hair

that said, i'm glad i'm female and don't have to go through that.

You might want to look again.

Women are affected by this to, it's just that they can get away with wearing a wig easier.

I *think* my hair is getting thin in the center part of my head. My hairline is fine but it seems to have thinned a little from just behind my hairline to my crown. I've thought about trying rogaine before it starts to become noticeable. They say you need to use it twice a day. I'd rather do it only before bed. Will that have any benefit at all?

grey hair is fine. Thinning hair is depressing.
I have grey hair my sophomore year in high school.

I think I will give rogaine a try or change shampoo.
god damn life is sucking.

Two of my cousins began balding around 18. One of them doesn't care and keeps his hair short (he's 30ish now) and the other shaves his head (he's about the same age). Their father began balding when he was about 18 as well.

My father has a receding hairline, his forehead extends halfway across the top of his head.

I don't think it'll happen to me though, because I take after my mother more than my father and my mother's father had a full head of hair until the day he died. Actually, so did my grandfather on my dad's side. 😕

Ahh, my apologies. Welcome to the "I'm far too young to be going bald, and yet I am" club.

/also 23, started balding at 22

Why do you guys put so much thought and worry into hair loss😕 Do you really believe that we as (true) females give at rats ass about your hair? Seriously, any women who is worth your time and consideration wont give it a second thought. Quite honestly, as I get older I find the men with the bald/closely shaved look very attractive. Its the comb overs and the denial haircuts that turn me off.

Not all hairloss is X-linked
