I tend to find my hair falling out, and noticed that its starting to get thinner near the edges of my hair line at the temples. Over 2005 I noticed that when I wake up I find hair on my pillow :(

Since I dont think this is a male pattern baldness cause my crown is not loosing any hair) are the drugs out there effective at all for stopping it in its early stage? (Or any other methods besides drugs?)

I used to shave my head, so its not like shaving it is a new thing, but I would like to keep my head of hair. It does not look too bad shaved, I just like having hair more (I got pics in my sig).

The sucky thing is all my cousins on my dads side have a full head of hair, and none do on my moms side and I take more after my mom :(

EDIT:

Well, to be honest I dont know if I am going bald anymore. I lost some hair earlier this year, and towards the beginning of September it stopped. In fact I am growing it long now. My GF does not seem to think I am going bald either, maybe I was just crazy?

rogaine does work, especially if its more for preventitive.
i know that hair loss comes from your mom's dad. thats why your cousins on your dads side still have hair.

Everyone starts to thin to a degree in their mid 20's(well us white peoplez anywho). Don't sweat it unless you really start to notice change.

I know how you feel. For years I was growing my hair out. I had a ponytail the day my daughter was born, but got it cut shortly after because I looked like a 14 year old father. I noticed then when I got my hair cut that my hairline had receeded over the years and I'm forming a wonderful widows peak. :( I'm about the same age.

over the last two years my hairline has receded approx 2cm. mostly over the last year. Over the last 6 months? it stopped. mostly what receded was the sides?, but the front is fine...even then the actual recession is minor. It happens to all guys...some guys go bald fast, some just lose it all in their late twenties, most will have hair loss as they get older.

My father has a full head of hair, but his hairline did the same as mine, but at 47 he still has more hair than a balding 25 year old :)

I'd say this, if you lose it and develop with widows peak (like Wolverine), then you're ok...thats pretty common and natural at one point or another. If the whole front line is moving? even then, still not that bad, if the rear of your head is developing a spot? you'd better find a woman fast :) hehe.

yup, your hairline will change a little in your late teen's early twenty's. it doesn't mean you are going bald.

My hairline has been receeding for years... and I'm 20. :( I think that if it continues at the current rate, I'll have hair until I'm.... 30? 35?

Same thing started to happen to me when I was 18-19...I'm 24 now and have a significant change to my hairline...but it's still as thick as ever.
