I think I am in trouble...[sort of an update]

Like I live in this house with 2 other housemates, everyone is respectful and quieter than I had expected, and I would really like to keep things the way it is. But today, another student moves in...his parents help him and seems to me everything is fine. I went out for a couple hours, then I returned to the house only to find his music play WAAAAAAY TOO LOUD!! FVCK! ESPECIALLY THE BASS!! And the worst thing is...he chose the room right next to me! He could have opt for the bigger room and a little away from mine but he didn't! He took out the closet door to make his room bigger!! Anyway... I just hate people being inconsiderate and play music too loud. I hope what happened today won't be any indication for the future...but I am betting he's got a big subwoofer in his room and I feel threatened by it... --END--

Cliffnote: New roomate has a big subwoofer which could be a source of future problem.

Update: Well, he just came into my room to ask why his adapter card is not working properly. Well, turn out he's got a mac, but that shouldn't be a problem normally...anyway, maybe God is already making him paid 🙂 Oh...by the way, when he came in..I had this thread on my monitor screen 😀 Talk about close call ...

If it gets to be a problem, plug the speaker intot he wall outlet. Instant blown speaker, and the roomate will have no clue.

Until he fires up that hidden camcorder that you didn't know about.

I've never understood why people NEED to have that much bass... especially when it disturbs everyone else in the house.

How about you try asking them to turn it down?

Yes, ask him first, and he doesn't listen, then you tell him that he is breaking house rules. If he has a problem with it, file a complaint against with your landlord/residents office.

Then laugh as someone comes over to warn him, and laugh harder when he gets pissed off after getting two fair warnings.

I'm not saying it gives you the right to do whatever the hell you want, but you three were there first, stop being pussies and lay down the rules.

I never understood why people need so much period. Everyone is going to me "Get a system for your car" I'm like, I don't need it. I listen to Rock, which doesn't require that much bass, I don't need to listen to the rap sh!t that is loaded with uneeded bass.

I just have to laugh when these kids at work complain about never having enough $$, but they sure as sh$t have 5-15K stereo systems in their cars and lowered vehicles (*gag*slammed Chevy suburban).

many people don't realize they are disturbing others and in college many people are looking forward to loud music, naked coeds, alcohol and drugs....screw studying, I didn't (for the record I was a Science Major, Biology/Chemistry not something like fine arts).

probably why college libraries are open many times past midnight....more people are there studying than checking out/using books (not counting the web surfers).

Huh?

I'm not following this at all. Could you dumb it down for me?

here's an idea, go talk to him about it.

Naw.. that'd be too easy, and far too sensible. Best thing to do is to stop and think about what Jack Black would do in this situation, then do exactly that.

Colleges have 'study areas' open really really late for people to study for a reason. They know at home many get distracted with TV, b/f and g/f, partying by their roomies, etc.....it goes with the territory.

For every serious student, you probably have 10-20 not serious ones and probably 20-50% of those never reaching graduation. I went to UF and whether in the dorms (I only visited, I always lived off campus) or in apartments, you would heard something fairly loud and obnoxious everytime at least somewhere. Sometimes neighbors complained sometimes they joined in.

Several times though the disturbed roommate let the other 10 people have fun and drove down to the campus or the all night donut shop to finish studying.

It's not that difficult.

if it's bottom fired and exposed, pucture the surround. Eventually it will tear and He'll think he blew it. No more subwoofer.
