I "stole" my wifes monitor!

Until today I have been using a Viewsonic A95f. The dot pitch is virtually non-existent, it's easy on the eyes...just a really nice monitor. My wife has a Samsung 955DF that I got for her last year during one of those Dell deals with a rebate and it was only $160. For the last several months her monitor was just 3 feet away from mine but I never really cared for it for some reason...it seemed like the pixels were gigantic, even at my personal favorite resolution of 1152 x 864.

Anyway, I decided to throw a PCI video card onto my motherboard and experiment with a dual monitor setup. I borrowed her monitor and after running the two monitors side-by-side for several hours I came to the conclusion that the 955DF is awesome! The colors are more vibrant, the pixels aren't as bad as I thought and it's like having a new toy! She is now the owner of a slightly used A95f.

By the way, after using dual monitors I don't know how in the world I lived without them! It's just great being able to use Visual Studio on one monitor and having the other monitor for web research, Word, Excel, the web, a DVD movie...it's awesome!

That was my random ramble for the day...

hahaha, well I'd notice but then again I'm not the average girl when it comes to computers 🙂

Hmmm...now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I've given my wife enough (or any!) credit. She's very intelligent, quite observant, somewhat savvy when it comes to computers...I think she'll probably kick my ass! :Q I guess I should go over to Amazon and pick up another 955DF...that'll make everything good!

by george I think you've got it 😀

Okay, I'm sure we can all see this is turning into a dilemma now! I took her monitor. She won't be happy. My solution is to SPEND MONEY to get the SAME monitor for myself! I'm screwed one way or the other! How come I was so happy just 15 minutes ago and now I'm on the virge of an emotional breakdown because somewhere inside I know the best thing to do is just give her the monitor back?

Dave

P.S. - I'm pretty sure my 'evil' side will win this one...I'm keeping this monitor! 😀

The way out of this situation is clear, keep the monitor you have hooked up, you surprise your wife with the new one, teling her that you felt that the crispness and clarity of her old one wasn't good enough for her eyes. You get a dual monitor setup and score tens of thousands of bonus good husband points at the same time 🙂

Baffled, what would some of us do without a wonderful woman like you present in these forums? So, you don't mind if I say "Baffled suggested it!" when my wife gets pissed? 😉

Ah, but if you stress just how important the protection of her lovely eyes is to you she won't get "pissed" lol, must I explain everything to you ? 😀

With my luck, if I tell her that she'll probably retort with something about how I don't care to protect her "big hips" or her "small boobs"! j/k 😀

lol, if you can't navigate your way around those rocky shores by now there's nothing I can say that will help you 😀

<< Sweet... thats good to hear. That's the monitor I just ordered for my new comp. >>

Got one myself, love it!! Except the curve at the bottom left of the screen, but some tweaking will make it invisible.
