Miss him almost to the point of missing Firefly... I know those stars are either old or dead, so that's not happening... but I wish Colbert was back here...

Colbert + Stewart + CNN used to be how I got my news, for real. I miss those days!

John Oliver is pretty good though. His deep-dives are incredible. The video he did on MLM's is amazing:

I know the OP did not mention at anything at all to this but I am a middle of the road guy. Some of Colbert's and John Oliver's "news" are incredibly biased, simplified, or sensationalized. They're not news reporters or journalists in anyway.

I too miss the Colbert Report, as well as John Stewart. They were late night traditions for me, along with the old Sportcenter. John Oliver's show is good, but he's no Stephen T. Colbert.

Well not talking about it is like not mentioning the elephant in the room. People idealize them for their view points. Colbert never shuts up about his trump hate speeches. Sure we all hate him - but it just gets tired after awhile for late night. Nothing worse than an ass clown who dumps on someone constantly with no creditable advice of their own. I use to like him but now it's just a flame fest with no jokes.

On the emoji front, we've petitioned Purch's crack team of geniuses several times. The faces change, but their answer never has. It has made me feel . . .

Careful, you'll hurt the OP's feelings and transgress against his apparently long held view that OT is a bastion of carefully considered probity and bourgeois manners . . . the kind of place where nuns and folks with severely impacted sphincters gather to unwind and dance in painfully choreographed minuets. I imagine D-power in a powdered wig, don't you?

Oh, and btw, the 22,000 professionals of the Television Academy agree with us, Craig, and not Desi . . . who is entitled to his opinion . . . no matter how wrong it might be! ;)

Actually, you made me think for a moment of a spinoff series where Morley Safer and Anderson Cooper dance for an hour titled "60 Minuets". Yeesh.

I've never quite understood the merciful "but he has a right to his opinion" addition.

We agree he does, but it's a bit like saying, "You're wrong - Benny Hill is NOT the best British comedy show ever, but you have the right to get water from the faucet and drive on public roads like everyone does." It's true, but there wasn't a question about that, just the inaccuracy of the opinion.

Correction, I never understood it until recently. In an age where telling the truth costs you your security clearance and presidential tweets demanding prison, I see the reason for the addition.
