Well, I'm not really sure what I did. Probably did a little back talking, but nothing sexual/ racial/ sexist, etc. My banter / attitude could have been seen as insubordination towards her from an outside observer, though. It was not any one overt act that got me trouble. It could have been just the way i acted towards her while working, but I'm not sure. Nothing was said to me about my attitude or behavior in the time leading up to this moment from her or the other personnel out here.

Wheezer:
I think I was being a smart ass and then pushing it a little too far. Sometimes you don't know when enough is enough. That could have been it.

In terms of value to the company... its a fairly entry level position. As of right now, from what I understand, we don't have enough personel to adequately work all the jobs we have running right now. I mean... most of our jobs usually have guys working 2 -3 weeks a month offshore. When we had more people, and less jobs running, we had a bunch of crews working equal time schedule, 2 weeks & 2 weeks off. Now we are phasing those crews to 2 weeks on, 1 week off. We also started pulling in people from outside companies and even form other service lines from within to meet some of our staffing needs.

I understand about being apologetic, and all that good jazz. I was planning on it to begin with. I do feel bad for letting it get this far. I just don't want to be sent to another rig. Knowing my luck, it will not be as nice as this, nor will I receive the same daily day rate that I would receive at my current posting because I could possibly be working a job at a lower day rate just b/c of contracts, or personnel needs.

With regards to the sexual harassment comment... Who knows what their ( my office) response will be if she frames it as such.

I see my options as: I just never work with her again on that rig; I get sent to another rig to work with their crew; I will be unassigned to a crew and bounce around as needed; or she gets transfered to another rig and I stay on that rig,; I get released / quit from the company before I can transfer to another division; I successfully transfer to another division.

Fullmetal Chocobo:
What game should I offer her? My n64 collection is maybe 10-12 games strong. I really don't want to part with any of them.

I wanted advice and opinions on what you guys thought. The DVDs were the wild card... I was trying to use the DVDs as the as the parallel to the "better nate then lever". I still LOL when I think about that thread.
Back on topic.. I also required counsel on the best approach to ask for said DVDs.

Tough crowd this morning... must really be a slow Sunday to have so many people reading and mocking my poor spelling, grammer and story telling abilities.

ugh. that hurts my brain.

If it was just smartass comments, how could she "frame" it as sexual harassment?

I take it that at the college you graduated from you didn't have to take any English/writing classes?

Seriously. That was painful to even try to read.

I don't know, but stranger things have happend.

I will still be working on the rig when she goes into the office and speaks with management. I'm not sure what she will tell them. I don't leave the rig until next Monday. I'm sure I will talk to to the office Tuesday morning while I'm still on duty. But this type of discussion is best to have in person then over a telephone.

I'll work on correcting the OP after I'm done with the weekely fire drill and safety meeting.

i would've never maintained relationship with this person out of work knowing that she was my supervisor because she has the authority to do shit like that. It's worse with a female, imo.

Maybe you felt that after you left work, you could "loosen" up with her and other employees but she probably took all that in and decided that you were unfit to work there.

Why don't you ask her what you did and how you could change/improve?

Solution: have a dozen roses, box of chocolates, and nice bottle of wine flown in by helicopter. Have them delivered to her with a note that says "I'm sorry, can I have my DVD's back?"

OP, obviously I don't know you in IRL or even as a poster outside of this extremely poorly written thread of yours, but my strong impression is that you severely lack interpersonal skills on a massive level.

Cliffs: You come across to me as something of a jerk.

I'll give you some credit. After the members busted your chops you improved your writing greatly.
I wonder if you are willing and responsive enough to do the same at work? It may well be too late for this job but it will be crucial for the next one(s).

QFT

Stop being an ass to your supervisors...

LOL..dude you are making wayyyy more of this that it really is.

This is not a big deal trust me.....the absolute worst thing that could happen you to is, as you said you could be fired....expect the worst and hope for the best would be my policy.

if you do keep your job I would not waste one ounce of effort on this woman....keep it strictly work related...you make an effort to be nice she'll have you by the balls and the next time....you will get fired simply because of the appearance of you creating issues with co-workers.

If I was in your situation this woman would be dead to me.....I would not make one effort to be anything but cordial and discuss nothing but work......fuck her....(of course that could be an option too)

EDIT:
Is she a supervisor?

See now, if that is the case it could be a whole different ball game.

I was a supervisor for many years and if I had a worker that was a constant smart ass I made sure to find a way to get his ass fired... and I did it quite often...I bet over the course of my 12 years as a supervisor I fired at least 10 people directly under me and got another 3-5 canned who were not even in my dept. but affected me or my employees directly....fuck me over and I found a way to get you shit canned....so if this is a consistent type of behavior...well you kinda fucked yourself....grow up....otherwise you will be changing jobs every 6 months.

Sometimes it is difficult to learn how to get what one wants, using standard methods but without lying.

A deal goes bad over the phone, online, or face to face, and it is becoming more standard to see or read about the one who was done wrong, loosing his cool. Similar also, regarding work or people in general, is to control one's mouth such that no extra information beyond what is appropriate, is given out. Many folks often say way too much, we can often and easily taint how that individual is perceived. It is quite often better to keep someone guessing, then to risk supplying more information of the wrong type, that can be stored for future use and abuse.

Got a job you like and want to keep, go conservative with most of your behavior, at least until you have a good and true understanding of all the players. False pride and foolish egos have caused many people problems at work, particularly when they are operating with a poor sense of what constitutes a reasonable set of "principles."

("where the hell is this bonehead going?", some might wonder.) 😀

I've done many different types of jobs over many years, and would much rather work with or around at least some women rather than only men, just because of the often different and sometimes better outlook.

There is one absolute truth when a good woman is placed in a highly testostone laden environment. The chances are quite high that she will become some measure more sensitive to anything verbal or behavioral, that has any risk of being perceived as a question or test of her knowledge or skills or character.

Dump a young woman on an oil rig, add on a measure of authority (deserved or not), stir in a good measure of male-ositudinality (indoors and out), and it should be quite easy to understand why she might want a stronger measure of decorum and respect than most are used to or have experienced giving, before.

My read of the OP's write is that he has very poor people skills, and needs to learn to keep his trap shut more often then not, until he can more accurately 'get' people and situations.

CLIFFS:

Shut up more often.

Treat a woman different/better than you would a man in the same situation.

Shitcan your ego and trash all your foolish definitions of 'principles'.

If you want or hope to keep a job/relationship, learn that in large part, the process is a game that should employ skills beyond what many seem willing to learn.

he touched her p3n0r and now she's mad.

I was thinking in that big OP there would be something worth talking about...but I was horribly wrong. He's just rambling about vague problems with crappy jokes mixed in.

you need to be careful what happens out there

oilfield guys are already hanging on a noose as it is

if its a personal problem, itll be okay. if it affects your performance/the job, you'll likely get shitcanned quick because everyone--her included--has to C.Y.A.

Liar. You say you don't know exactly what you did, yet the rest of your post indicates that you do know what you did. TELL US WHAT YOU DID or else this is all worthless.

OP - I hope English isn't your first language. B/c you suck at it. You have written so much yet none of us can figure out what the hell you did. How about some examples/episodes?

Either way, your immaturity has made your boss not want to speak to you nor want to work with you anymore. Pretty much the worse thing possible besides committing a crime in the workplace. I'm guessing after she speaks to her bosses, you're canned.

Before anything, you really need to work on your writing skill. You simply don't make any sense.
I'm amazed that you could even pass elementry school with that kind of writing.
Not only your wording and spelling is all messed up, but also your flow is very strange. Reminds me of someone with schizophrenia.
