It will, though. The cable guys built their business model on the basis of being monopoly providers with gatekeeper control over the network. Those days are gone, thank God.

Unfortunately, I disagree, considering most people probably get their internet access THROUGH their cable TV provider. :(

I never got rid of my streaming sub, it and hulu plus cover everything I need and save me tons of fucking money. I think I pay like 80 total for internet, netflix and hulu plus. It would be like 150 for the same shit with TV to watch the shows I want and access to enough channels to see shows and movies that are on netflix.

That is true, I know I do at least. But with wireless technologies coming up pretty quick, those download speeds are pretty good too. I can only imagine what it will look like in 10 years. My Verizon 4g wireless hotspot, routinely gets 6-10 MB up AND down, and occasionally it gets into the 20MBit area.

Obviously it isn't available everywhere, and I am capped at 4 GB (with an option to get 10 GB limit), but eventually when this becomes more common place, I see that going the way long distance did a few year back (for those of us who even remember having to have a long distance carrier on our phone line).
