I really don't like UPS!

A while back I cracked a wheel on one of my cars and had to order a new one, so the vendor chose UPS to ship. The scheduled delivery was on the 19th, so I waited for it.

Yesterday, I saw a UPS truck pulled into the housing complex, a lady deliverer hops out, went to the house ACROSS the way from mine, looks around (never bother to turned and look behind) and then left before I had time to run out and ask about my package. Later that evening, I checked the status and there was an exception with the delivery citing "Correct address requested".

I called their customer service, and they said the deliverer could not find the house, and have since realized the mistake and the package will be delivered today, the 20th in the AM. At noon today, I checked the status on their website again and nothing has changed regarding my package, the same exception was still listed so I called their CS again. This time, I was told "there was an error with the address, it's listed as AVENUE instead of LANE" which is a lie, because in their quantum notifications and previous communications, all listed the correct address.

The CS agent did ask me if I need the item, I could come pick it up myself, to which I replied "I paid for it to be shipped to my door". So, now 20 minutes into the conversation on the phone, the CS agent agreed to route my package to be delivered before 2:30 PST.

The UPS truck came, I ran and stood outside of the front door to make sure she doesn't miss the house, which I have a hard time understanding how she could miss it the first time as the number is prominently displayed on the awning, all she has to do was look in the general direction... Well, she told me that the package was on another truck yesterday... Which is another big fat lie.

Anyways, I took the package inside, opened it up and there were two dents on the brand new wheel. Just unbelievable! Now, I don't know where the dents come from so I'm contacting the seller first. Seller is an e-commerce extension of a dealership, and they are reputable.

Cliffs:
1. UPS
2. Incompetency, lies
3. Pic1
4. Pic2

What does the outer packaging look like?

No, it's not rust, it's angle plus some sort of residue that I'm not touching. The package doesn't look like it suffered damages.

Nah, I carried the box in myself, although I wouldn't terribly mind if she did. She wasn't fugly or butch.

Then use your head. I don't think you can gouge metal through packaging materials without harming the packaging materials.

If the package wasn't damage it was likely damaged by the place u bought them from. Ive never received a UPS package damaged, only FedEx has delivered packages with bent ends and obvious abuse on them.

There is a very precise small hole, almost like a bullet hole. But that still doesn't explain the second dent and the scratches. I didn't squarely blamed UPS for the damages, just their incompetency, for now.

shipping companies do re-box packages. in fact they do it all the time. might want to verify that this is the packaging that the shipper sent it in.

Before I can decide who is the most incompetent, I need to see the wheel YOU messed up.

Wal Mart sells wheels. It's just a metal loop you know. Or do you like spending more for sparkles and shin stuff?

What I am getting at is, are you a man? If the damn thing can have a tire mounted to it, and it spins in a circle, what is the problem?

LOLx2 at Mr. 2004

Different people care about different things. I feel pain at the sight of any blemish on any part of my vehicle.

Looks like they were damaged prior to shipping.

If that dent, and all other damage is on the inside of the wheel, I'd just sand it smooth, and mount it. If not, send it back, on someone else's dime.
Oh, and please ignore IHateMyJob, most of us can easily tell the difference between sh!t, and shine-ola.

If that chip happened during transit, the box would have matching rips in them. Anything that can cause that much damage to a wheel would definitely go straight through the box.
