I won;t quit. I just joined over there at BE, and I will continue there until the mods get half a brain, and permaban Dothan. Intelia and fatty also need a ban, but Dothan is te worst. I may post here once in a while and will respond to PM's, but I won;t be here much until the trolls are cleaned.

even though i haven't been here as long as most people, i have to say that these forums are pretty clean compared to some other ones...IMO, 3 trolls aren't a lot when comparing the amount of users this forum has.

If everyone just ignore the troll and DO NOT POST on their thread, or comment about anything they say on ANY thread, they would just leave and find another forum to troll around...

the problem with ignoring them is that then people looking on the forums will see their advice and think it is real, so they will make bad buyign decisions.

lol, one easy solution if mods don't feel "comfortable" in banning them. Make a thread, keep it bumped or sticky (if possible) stating: Trolls=XXX, XXX, XXX. Do not trust, listen, or comment on. Ignore is HIGHLY recommended.

That is an incredibly good idea, assuming it doesnt' get locked.
 
There's always a post like this - in every forum. Someone who basically spends all their waking hours posting wants to hear everyone say "ohhh please, for the love of God - please don't go - we need you man! We love you! blah blah". 😀

they have the time to read and lock a thread...but they don't have the time to give us a reason/opinion on the bans...

YUp, I tried it and it got locked right here.
I guess we just have to suffer, as the mods lock me, but not the trolls.

OK, everybody who is sick of the mods who have their head up their a$$, join bleeginedge.com forums(or any other good forum). Maybe When anandtech looses all the web hits, and looses advertizing, they will listen to the masses and the mods will come to their senses..

ok....i have another "great" idea...why don't we form a Troll Awareness Clan...in which we put Trolls are XXX, XXX, XXX. Do not trust, listen, or comment on. Ignore is HIGHLY recommended.

To Aenslead: yea, that's what i said earlier...it's just 3 trolls, go to other games forum (not the one in Anandtech) and you would see at least 6/10 of those person there a troll.
 
I honestly don't want to put myself into a troll war...but Veg...stick around...you, as well as a few others like Guitar Daddy, Capt Caveman, Markfw900, and others helped me out when I knew jack sh*t about OC'ing my computer and helping me out with problems. I sincerely apprecaite it so please...don't leave because people can't act with a level of maturity that should be held on here.

As Guitar Daddy said...don't quit...then they win. If you still decide to leave, thanks for the help you gave me, and I'm sure many others. It was apprecaited very much
 
The mods can't show favortism here... if the mods show AMD bias, Intel will stop sending review samples, and visa versa. Users are free to be as bias as they want... they're also free to give piss poor advice... they're also free to flat out lie. Lying, giving poor advice, and being biased are not against forum rules.

Last year I left the forums for a few months, made a post almost just like this. I was pissed because I started what I thought was an informative thread, it got crapped to hell with completely off topic posts, and then locked. The off topic posters even made it clear they were intentionally posting off topic... not to crap my thread, but because they felt they had something to say and it must be said in that thread for whatever reason. But I'm back. I don't like chat rooms, but I like active forums. I don't necessarily think AT's forums are quality, but they're active, so I continue to post because I can get replies in seconds. It's a form of entertainment. When I really need help with a problem, or really want to discuss technical stuff, I take it to other sites because a thread like that here would get crapped with "should have bought an A64" or "Yonah will kick the A64's ass" or "nVidiot!"

Back to my point... unfortunately banboyism, stupidity, and deceit are not against the forum rules. Don't take the forum (or yourself) so seriously. If you want to catch up on world news, don't turn on Jerry Springer. AT is the Jerry Springer of technology forums.
