i overclock my opteron 165 to 2.2 ghz!!after 24hr prim95 stable,i stop the test, my cpu use to run 40c, after i overclock to 2.2 ghz, everthing is on auto, i only rasie the htt, now the temp is 37c, how does that happen?

You really don't need to be Priming an Opty at 2.2 GHz. With that CPU I would start at like 2.7 then just keep raising the voltage until it's stable.

No, you don't need to start by jumping your chip up to 2.7ghz, since a lot of Opterons lately can't even do 2.7 at stock/low voltage. I would continue to overclock incrementally.

Also, I tend to notice that after overclocking 400-600mhz, if at same voltage, my temps will start going down as well. It's the AS5 filling out.
