I ordered a Dell 8400 w/ a P4 3.2, but they sent me a 3.4 intead!!

Long story short, before the holidays, I ordered a Dell Dimension 8400 for the wifey. Not as a present, but more of a tax write-off kinda thing (don't tell her that) ... anyway, I just got around to setting it up this weekend and I noticed that instead of the Prescott 3.2 Ghz processor, Dell decided (or fubar'ed) and sent me a Prescott 3.4 Ghz instead!

I'm not complaining or anything. Maybe Dell ran outta 3.2s or something? Dunno. Anyone else have this happen?

+1 for Dell.

😀

<-- Waits for some dumba** to tell you to return it since you're defrauding Dell! 😛

Dell often fubars orders. Someone else got your 3.2 and will never know the difference because their invoice says 3.4

Your invoice specifies 3.2, right?

I don't think I've ever recieved a Dell Optiplex as-ordered.

We got two laptops. An 1100, and a 5100. My sister took the 5100 thinking it was hers, and we got stuck with the 1100 at home. Made it a b1tch when we needed tech support cuz the numbers didn't match up but whatever, that's like a $1700 lappy for free.

Yep, typical Dell error. Remember that non-english-speakers assemble their computers.

Cause speaking English helps one tell the difference between 3.2 and 3.4?

DM, you should call Dell and return it or offer to pay because it's not right. 😀

Oh, wait. You should call and complain and ask them for a discount since they fvcked up your order! 😛

 to Zim! 😀

Yeah I can see that conversation now . . . "Dammit, listen, my computer is running WAY TOO FAST! I demand that you send me something SLOWER! You hear me you Dell MFs?!?"

Yeah, that'll never happen.

Maybe it was Dell's Christmas present to me? Kinda like the $1 17" LCD TV that came with this system?

I  You Dellf Girl!

WAIT! I just realized this means my wife has a FASTER computer than ME! OMGWTF?!? I hate you now Dell! Hate, hate, hate!

:brokenheart:

(I'm so conflicted)

Me!! How is this any different from those "morality" threads where someone accidentally recieves someone's donated kidney and asks ATOT if he should keep it?
