Ehh ... I suppose when I get my annual hair cut I could pay a tip, but I'd rather just use the clippers and cut it myself or have a friend do it.

On the rare occasions where I go to a barber, I pay what it costs. If it costs $13, I pay $13. If they want more money, then they should raise their prices.

I get my hair cut at a place that charges a flat rate of $10 for mens haircuts.
I always tip the nice lady $5, and whenever I walk in, she stops doing whatever she's doing, takes my name, then calls me up just as soon as she finishes the person she's grooming, no matter how many are ahead of me.

She also knows exactly how I want it cut, so that's a plus.

I always tip 5 bucks+. Funny, I can call in anytime and say "when can you fit me in today, is now ok?" Not suprisingly the answer is "come on in". I've seen her make others wait while I get my cut that were there before me and had an appointment many times.

Tip well, and you'll live well.

Oh, and my hair place serves beer. Everybody else has to pay, not me.

the barber lady took 40 minutes to cut my hair. she is the only one that can cut it so awesomely. even though a bad haircut doesnt make me look any less awesome. 20 on a 13. its cool. i wish tipping was illegal though.

I always tip my barber pretty well for haircuts, but I don't enjoy it.

It's like entering jaws of a python...once you commit a certain amount, there's no retracting from that amount in the future.

The ability to walk in and get treated like a boss with free beers and get a cut before the peons that have been waiting for an appointment makes me happy.

Where the bumfuck do you live in which a $5 tip gets you a superstar treatment? Don't know about you but in any major coastal cities $5 tip is barely above average.
