until I had Starbucks coffee.

wtf is this shit? D:

my office just installed a giant Starbucks coffee machine and it's pretty fucking terrible. having to walk across the street to Dunkin Donuts isn't so bad now when the weather is nice, but when it goes sub-zero, I might have to break my caffine addiction.

this is the machine:

and the cup sizes are only 4/10 ounces? wtf Starbucks, a "cup" is 8 ounces. everyone knows this. :colbert:

Why not just get a small 4-cup machine for yourself along with a grinder. Then you can brew whatever you want, whenever you want.

I've got my own coffee maker, grinder, toaster, fridge, and microwave in my office. Screw sharing.

I like Starbucks coffee alright. It isn't my favorite, but it's on the better end of quick coffee while out.

I'm a cubicle jockey (actually, everyone in my company is except the CEO, CTO, Sales VP, and people who need offices for security reasons)... I could see a coffee grinder getting really old, really fast for my coworkers :p

but a 4-cup drip machine or something might not be the worst idea in the world.

Just get a french press. Heat up some water, pour it in, wait 4 minutes, plunge, pour - enjoy significantly better coffee at a very agreeable price.

I usually grind enough for a few days at a time. It only takes about 15 seconds to grind enough for 3 days worth of coffee.

i consider coffee snobs the ones that scoff at other coffees because they are "below" them. i have friends that will not drink anything but "gourmet" they find at obscure little cafes or small import stores. when i want coffee, ill grab a cup where ever i can find it. i dont mind.

and i agree, starbux usually tastes very burnt and over roasted to me. i rarely like it, unless its completely overrun with other things like caramel, whipped topping and cream. maybe some vanilla. and cinnamon.

I have a French Press that makes a single cup of coffee and a grinder. All I need to do is boil water. Plus, it really does make great coffee. I don't feel the need to buy coffee from a shop unless I want something fancier like an espresso.

What I did for work though was that I kept the grinder at home and I would just grind it out before I left in the morning and just bring a baggie of the grind.

I have a grinder at the office. I go to the kitchen and grind my coffee there. No offices near there, so nobody cares.

dunkin donuts: the snobs choice
prior to this terribad cup of Starbucks coffee, I really couldn't taste the difference between french press, drip, percolated, kurig, dunkin donuts, etc.

I guess I should say, the difference between a great cup and an OK cup is lost on me... but I'm now aware of the existence of a goddamned terrible cup.

edit: or I should say, a terrible cup-and-a-quarter.

I like French press the best, but they are the worst to clean.
