Gas, Kansas. Really small town in Kansas less than a mile wide.

They have a cool billboard that says "don't blink... or you might pass gas."

My BIL works in DC and says it's an absolutely hell hole. I wouldn't work there for less than a 6 figure salary and benefits out the ass.

You couldn't pay enough to live there or within smelling distance of there.

Virginia sucks, im moving next year after I graduate.

Northern AZ is nice (Flagstaff or Payson, AZ). Forested, cool, it snows but temps rarely stay below freezing. Intel and Microchip have plants in Chandler and Gilvert, AZ (both pretty much suburbs of Phoenix).

VA and MD have high taxes. Jobs are easy to find in the DC area, but traffic sucks.

PA and OH are nice, but hard to find jobs there.

Northern AZ gets my vote!

Do you have a specific city? I really like Texas, except the politic stuff that happends down there.

Austin is nice, San Antonio is great, DFW(my home) is also good. Or there are thousands of small towns, if you like the rural life

You wouldn't want to live in Payson or Flag and work in Chandler or Gilbert. You would have to live near Phoenix, and that means dust storms and the horrors of the desert. Better to try PA or OH.

Madison is pretty nice for students, but I wouldn't want to raise a family around where I am. Maybe in the surrounding suburbs though...

Virginia does not have high taxes.

Virginia?s Tax Burden Below National Average
During the past three decades Virginia's state and local tax burden has consistently ranked below the national average. Estimated at 9.7% of income, Virginia?s state/local tax burden percentage ranks 34th highest in the nation, well below the national average of 10.1%. Virginians pay $3,820 per-capita for state and local taxes.

I'm getting old. Where should I move too? Recommned a city that has jobs, cheap housing, and friendly people. Perhaps where you currently live or want to live.

Preferably in the US.

How about D.C.?

What are you, retarded? D.C. meets none of his criteria. Horribly expensive, crappy schools, high crime, horrible traffic. People are OK I guess. But this is not a place you should move to.

D.C. should be declared a federal disaster area and evacuated. It is not fit for human habitation if you ask me. A more wretched hive of vile scum and villiany you will not find.

I only have good memories of living in VA. Quite peaceful. Nature parks are very good. But if you want a more urban style, you should check out my above list.

I am guessing you have never been to Newark or driven on the Cross Bronx Expressway.

Vancouver is nice, but the housing price would give you a nose bleed. Better place for work & housing is Calgary with not too shabby environment but not as warm/pretty as Vancouver.

Small town Michigan, ahh. We live in St Joseph MI. Its on Lake Michigan a little resorty during the summer but when we both moved from larger cities, him Chicago and myself Grand Rapids we fell in love. The people are beyond friendly, neighboors enjoy each other company on there porches at night, I know my mailman, bartenders, bankers. Its a great place to raise a family, enjoy life and relax.
