I need some songs with good basslines.

It took this long for someone to mention Wooten? Find some Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Sinister Minister and Sex in a Pan are probably my two favorites.

If you want more rock bass lines, listen to Zeppelin and Iron Maiden. The Who. Metallica through MoP. Rush.

There are too many to name, and I don't know the names of all of them. Try some jazz, some of the stuff the old guys did on uprights is amazing.

to be fair, wooten isn't exactly known for sick basslines on songs (at least that's not how I know him). He's known for being a bass legend and pioneer.

back the f*** up Basically the entire Mezzanine album by Massive Attack. There's one part in particular on the track Inertia Creeps that will fracture your damn rib cage. Also that album is very special in a super-duper way. Get it. Don't believe me go to Amazon reviews, people start religions over albums like this. BTW I'm talking bass lines, not bass guitars 🙂

Is that the album that includes the track "Teardrop"? That song is amazing (the video is awesome too)

Spirit in the Sky - Rev. Norm Greenbaum
The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat) - The Doors
Hella Good - No Doubt
I Hate Myself for Loving You - Joan Jett

Paul is just freakin insane. Probably my favorite bassist.

JC ripped that song to shreds. I also love Paul but JC's new tone coming out of his Wal (esp. live) is just recockulous

Wal -> GK heads -> MB cabs = involuntary orgasm
