I need some help picking out a new video card.

My 128mb ATI x300 just isn't cutting it. My requirements are:

- Single slot video card
- DVI
- PCI-e
- <=$200 after tax and everything
- New or used
- Will run BF2/HL/HL2 at decent resolution/detail level on a 2405fpw (its ok if it's non-native resolution)

I appreciate any input

Maybe a GeForce 7600GT...one of the factory overclocked ones if possible?

Newegg has a couple brands for less than $200 and with mail-in rebates as well.

That's kinda where I was leaning too, but a few people are telling me it's worth it to shell out some extra for a 7900GT.

You could try the FS/FT forum - might be able to get a used 7800GT for near $200. Or at least a used 6800GT for about $140...

Some guy was saying he can get an X850XT PE for ~$150. You might want to find his post in the Video section and pm him. That would be a great card.

Well, you could always buy a cheap single slot cooler for it. Either that or go for a 7600GT if you can find one in your price range.
