I was thinking about getting an emachine laptop, but i know a few years ago emachine desktops were pretty shotty. So the laptops are much better?
Emachines is not the bad a product IMO, never has been. People have always complained about it but for the money its a decent product. You get what you pay for though in anything, Yes comparing a $700 Emachines laptop for a $1500 IBM with the same specs, the Emachines looks better but the IBM's quality is much better. It all depends on what you what out of it and how much your want to put in it.
Ahh i see. I currently have a HP laptop.. But its becoming outdated so I've been looking around and exploring the options. I would use this laptop as an everyday computer. I've retired from using a desktop computer. But besides that it wouldnt get much workout. Mostly just using Office and browsing/chatting. You think an emachine would be ok for me?
IDK for sure, like I said before I havent been looking for one so Im not sure of whats all up to date etc... But IMO if your not going to game or do high end graphics and stuff like that an Emachines should work fine for you. But I just looked at their site, unless you can get a good discount at a retail store, you should be able to get a new HP/Compaq laptop for the same price range, even a Slightly larger/heavier IBM one. Just set yourself a budget to go by and then shop around for what seems good for you. Go to retail stores and test them out, fell how heavy they are and how big they are. Find what suits your needs.
