I have a broadband router in the basement, and a computer in my room. I have a wire going from desk to desk. My router and computer both register a connection, yet the dhcp on the router doesn't assign an ip address to my desktop upstairs. I have a computer runnong off it and it's working fine. I sometimes get a connection registered on the router but i always haveone on my desktop. It runs fine on the internet because i've had it hooked in in the past. I don't know why it does that. It is a rather long cable.
On one end it's wired:
Green/white (PIN 1)
Green
Orange/White
Blue
Blue/White

Brown/White

On the other it's:

Please Help!!

EDIT: I tried To hook my laptop in that's been on my network a many and I got the same thing.

you'll need to wire it to 568b pinout.

What you have isn't. It's also a good idea to use keystone jacks instead of crimping an end on.

Your cable is wired as a crossover cable. Rewire it to 586B standard as spidey suggests, which is your second pinout. Your first pinout is 586A standard.
