You could get by with MUCH cheaper RAM...how far are you going to OC this thing?

So you're planning on adding another 6800gt in the future then? (just making sure ;))

And yeah, go with cheaper ram than that. You can get a gig for about half that and the performance will be very close. The money is better spent elsewhere... like getting that second 6800gt sooner :)

Save $100 by going with Corsair Value RAM, which is just as good for your needs. Save another $100 by getting an X800XL instead of a 6800GT. Go with an Nforce 4 Ultra board instead of SLI to save a few more bucks. You'll have a rocking system, and can put the money saved toward your next upgrade (like a nice R520 card).

Which doesn't use TCCD, the XBL does.

I suggest geting the 10x multi and ocing with that mem which is the cheapest TCCD with the BP pcb.

Remember that you don't need TCCD to OC an A64................
He recommended the G.skill 2-3-3-6 because it's the price of value RAM but with better latencies. If that weren't available he would have recommended something like Kingmax value RAM, most likely.

If he wants to run a divider he can do so, I like to stay 1:1.

Chaintech VNF4 Ultra
1G Corsair Value Select
939 3200 or 3000
X800xl or 6600gt

That's the best 'budget' gaming machine I can think of.

Or

3200/3500
Dfi Ultra D
1G Value Select or The Patriot XBL
x800xl

Little Better, little more expensive.

would that ram that i posted aboive be better then the XBL ram? remember im not overclocking for a while i just wont a very fast @stock speed comp. I dont want the ultr-d becauseive heard alot about that it is picky with some parts.
