What exactly do you need help with and what are you trying to achieve (objectives, outcomes)? What is your role in this exercise?

As a PM, you shouldn't need detailed product knowledge, you need 'resources/SMEs' who do have this knowledge (depending on what you're trying to achieve).

Do you not have a senior manager/sponsor/executive giving direction/vision?

Is SalesForce one of those made-up software packages that they charge millions for, but doesn't actually do anything? (Other than generate money for consultants.)

Edit: Never mind, after inspecting their website, it appears that the software "CRM, the cloud, and the social enterprise." Sounds legit.

Ug, I hate PMs. They know nothing and dictate what people who do know how to do things. PMs should always be on ritilin. Hell, I fired several just because my team kept complaining. The best PMs are the engineers and techs. All you need is a good director who wants to work and then you can eliminate all PMs.
