Look at this closely, this is the log from my ZoneAlarm ;

The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (ICMP Unreachable) from 0.0.0.0.

Occurred: 4 times between 4/18/03 5:58:16 PM and 4/18/03 5:58:38 PM

Please, no more "You are being scanned by god jokes", I really need to know what the hell is going on here, this clown that is trying to scan me, is he spoofing his IP ?

Yes, it's probably a scan with a spoof. Get a router, live behind it, and you don't have to deal with so many attacks.

I agree, scanned with a spoof. Could also be a server worm hitting a scope of IP addys.

Firewalls and Routers help.

What router do you guys suggest, remember that when it comes to networks, I am the king of n00bs 😉

King N00bulas 😉🙂

Linksys. I currently own 4 of them and have never had a problem. I, of course, could walk you through installation.😉

Well most home routers have decent filtering and protection capabilities.
Personally, I like D-Link, because I got my 614+ for free. 😛
Not only that but it has a very well thought out interface and good tech support (at least compared to Linksys).

I'm also a networking n00b but I would recommend Linksys (question is, which model)?

Do you have broadband or dial up?
BEFSR41 (I think that is it). Of course, he may only need a one port router.

too bad us people here in michigan cant get a router without the feds kicking down our door and killing us at will...or whatever the punishment for that new law is

Thank you, that's it.

We have 1 and it's great.

$28 in FS/FT

Who's yo daddy!!!
The one you linked to is a one port (11) model.

Aside from the basics of NAT, a router is only as good as the person configuring it. If you feel like learning you could turn an old hunker computer into one that you could fully configure.

Roger,

I would search FS/FT in the search box for Linksys or router

I found this for cheap (we have a Microsoft WAP love it!)

I have cable internet access, seeing that my little guy has a new PC, I will probably go for a four port Linksys, are they that hard to configure ?
