Looks like Senator Snowe actually gives a shit about Americans. I bet she will be crucified by the GOP and the rightwing blowhards. I think Baucas's bill needs alot of work but at least the healthcare legislation will move to the floor now. Looks like President Obama is one step closer to achieving the once thought unachievable...suck on that righties ;)

A right wing nut friend of mine who sends me 'RE: FW: FW: FW: OMGOBAMMAISASOCIALIST' Emails all the time said Snowe is a RINO because she works with the (D)'s. Apparently compromise is not allowed in the (R) party.

Its nice to see that you put sticking it to the rightings as the reason you support this worthless bill. 'It needs a lot of work' but as long as the righties 'suck on it' you support it. I guess I changed my mind about the Democrat party.. I used to think some of you weren't partisan hacks.. I was wrong.

The GOP is great at fear mongering, stalling and obstructing anything that resembles progress.

A public option was "unachievable"?

I believe it is Universal Healthcare, or "single-payer" that is unachievable. Really, a government subsidized option that competes with private is nowhere near what the real Left is after.

It actually makes me feel all warm inside that the true "Left" in the US is nothing but a fringe (Hillary, Kucinich, etc).

The bills floating around right now setback real UHC for decades.

If you had read the article, no GOP votes were necessary but I found it fascinating that someone on the GOP was willing to come together in good faith on the broken healthcare system in this nation. I can see where you would have a problem with this...

I am sure it will be included in the final bill especially after the insurance companies dropped this nugget.

What is that? Forced health insurance at the butt of a gun through private carriers?
You are right, 6 months ago I never thought that was achievable. What a win for the left lmao.

My support of non-support of legislation is based solely on its content and not the party that authors it. This bill is a worthless bucket of shit and I wouldn't support it if a GOP person wrote it. Well, for that matter.. NOBODY has written this bill its not even available yet.. they are voting on vaporware at this point. But again, that fact that YOU seem to support it primarily because it sticks it to the GOP tells me you are nothing but a partisan hack.

So precisely what effects will this bill have, and how will it work? What, precisely, provisions are there to maintain the quality of health care besides saying you'll have it. What, precisely, will this provide? What will the specific consequences be and besides faith, how do you know?

In other words does anyone here KNOW what they are supporting in other than oblique terms?

You use the word "worthless" a lot when referring to this legislation. If it's worthless, that means YOU think the status quo is at least as good as the proposal. Is that your opinion, or are YOU just a "partisan hack?"

And given the reaction by Democrats to the "blue dogs", Democrats dont think so either ;)

When Obama does something I support I won't jab at him. Since he pretty much hasn't accomplished anything at this point I have nothing to praise him on.

"The majority has the votes. It has the votes in the House. It has the votes in the Senate. So it shouldn't be about the mathematics of vote-counting, but rather the mechanics of getting the best policy," she said.

in other words she realized that she can get better policy by cooperating.
