I made less than 12k last year

Good luck to you and the rest of the Anandtech folk.

My w2 shows i made 20k in about 8 months. That was with consistent 60 hour weeks with a few 72 ones thrown in.

Age? Location? Living at home? Wife and kids?

Made $12K/year when I was an undergrad, for 3 summer months of work... and that would have been a good year for me. It's relative to where you are in life.

I own a home, no wife and kids. $12k is far from enough.

I'm in the same boat. Was a student for the first few months, then bullshit minimum wage job, then real job for the last quarter.

13k last year, undergrad student working ~25 hours a week as an intern
/better than 10k the year before, but most of the difference is spent on fuel costs

Don't feel bad, I only made about $10,000 last year. My parents help me out here and there, obviously. I am an intern at a large company, but they cap me at 20 hours a week. Obviously I am currently looking for a new job, and, thankfully have an interview lined up at a company that will potentially pay me more, but guarantees me more hours.

I might work both jobs just so I can save for a while.

This thread makes me sad. My perception that all you AT nerds make 200k+ has been shattered.

He's saying $12k net worth. That's after paying for his mansion and yacht. Real estate hurt last year.

He had another thread where he had to cut back on his finances and had to choose whether to keep the Maserati or Ferrari. Brake work's hell on the Ferrari, so he kept the Maserati. Sure, it's not as fast, but far more practical, with lower payments and higher mileage.

that sucks ass.
I think I made that much working part time in high school 🙁

Hope everybody here has a better 2011 than 2010. I am not exactly suffering from poverty, but a few extra bucks would go a long way towards my mortgage or some renovations I want to make to my house.

I think we need some context , i made half that working part time in college in the computer center and it wasn't 'hurting' me.

If you're fully supporting yourself and living by yourself, that sucks and i hope this year works better for you.
