Made 8.5K last year. The year before than 10.7K.. I do not even get tax benefits and cannot work off campus.. since I am international student. Not terribly worried with my finances though, I knew what my situation would be when I moved to US.

The only thing that I can brag about is, I have very little debt.

$42,755 in 31 weeks of work. First time I've had any real amount of my own money to my name.

Same here.

Got fired from decent paying job in January of last year. Spent 6 months on unemployment. Finally found a job, although it was minimum wage, which sucks, but it was money coming in. Had barely enough money to pay bills and get by. And then last month I landed a job that pays better than the decent paying job I was fired from last year.

I suppose it's a good thing though. Being flat fucking broke for so long made me much more responsible with my money. The feeling of being late on bills, and skipping out on going to movies because I can't spare the $7.50 is something that will stick with me forever. It also helps build character I guess. Got to take a good look at my life as some poor asshole.

2011 isn't even 36 days old yet, and it's already infinitely better than 2010.

If you're fully supporting yourself and living by yourself, that sucks and i hope this year works better for you.

It sucked. Mortgage and car loan, not counting other much smaller debts and living expenses. My dad insisted on paying the bills, I would have just let the house go before asking for money. I'd do anything for my dad, he's been so helpful.
