WTF? They still separate the boys from the girls?

LOL seriously, you are PAYING to be there and are all ADULTS....lame.
Adults? When I was in the freshman dorms, it was like living with a bunch of 150lb+ toddlers on crack.

College wasn't much fun for me though.

Jesus. :Q Is that how long it takes? What are you studying????

Haha, fortunately that hasn't been my case at all, but I've seen it enough to laugh. I study evolutionary genetics. It takes most people in research science 9-11 years total to earn their PhD. I know a few people who did it in 8 years, but I know many more who took more than 11 years.

School hasn't even started yet, and already I'm having more fun than ever in my life.

I've slept in three different girls' dorms, ran from the cops, got caught by the cops, gotten a job that's two bucks above what I make now, and have been having a fucking blast on campus.

This is insane. I love this shit.

What major? We will tell you how long that will last.

That's what I was sayin, first week was sweet, the rest of the year was aweful.

wtf quarter system? classes start on tuesday for me.

Yeah quarter system... first day of class is Sept. 30 and spring quarter usually ends second week of June. It sucks when all of my friends that don't go to the same school have different break schedules.

/ community college :frown:

The semester at the local community college started this past Monday.

GAWD I miss going to skool. I'd have never believed how much fun it was.

Obviously, I'm way older than most of youse here, lived in my own house rather than a dorm, (I did barracks 35 years ago, so I do understand) and wasn't into the party scene like most youngsters...but SCHOOL was FUN!

If I could afford it, I think I'd become a "professional student," and just keep going to school...learning new things, facing new challenges, and having a blast!

i'm 26 and not the typical student. *sometimes* its fun. i get out of class whenever i can (21 credit hours, 2 part time jobs. im busy). mostly im bored. i like learning, i just prefer to do it on my own terms.

i just found out that if i graduate and soon after get my CCNA, i can actually transfer to the nearest university, ECU, and jump in as a junior. which means 2 more years.

/but im so tired of school already

slept in girls dorm? wouldn't be better to have them sleep in your dorm? more fun with hidden cams and walk of shame.

at least he can do that. my uni has this dumbass rule that no one of the opposite sex are allowed in dorms past 2 am. Enforcement as you can imagine, is inconsistent, mostly just the RA's that take their job way too seriously that do it.

The dorm I slept in had much more strict rules and we did it anyway. The RA was across the hall

😀

My freshman year, the first floor of the dorm the guy's side were all triples, and each had their own private bathroom inside, whereas all other units had community bathrooms (though they upgraded that building to a block of community bathrooms, but private with a toilet, sink, and shower in each bathroom unit.
but moving on... yeah, our room was literally right next to the floor RA. And right next to her room was the building RA.

He was a douche, but our floor RA was awesome. Apparently alcohol has a smell, and our RA didn't give two shits about us drinking as long as we weren't stupid. She always saw the bud light box next to our mini fridge and just laughed, or our bottles. But she'd walk by and knock on the door and tell us to watch out if the other RAs were patrolling or if she could smell it.
What was never smelled was the best part - that little bathroom got used for things.

My current school year building is also awesome. It's an apartment-style dorm, each unit has a full kitchen and living room, and two two-person bedrooms attached, each with their own personal bathroom, which are really nice too. 5 floors, and the two RAs have either 2 or 3 floors. Drinking is basically something none of them care about. Hell, we had a permanent ping pong table set up for beer pong, and played it all the time.
Once we had a complex RA come in and card everyone because one of the guys walked around the building with a can of beer and they didn't like that, but nothing came of that since everyone was of age, thankfully. Next year I'm going to have to be careful, because my old roommates are graduating, and I only know the person who will be sharing my room next year, and he's not of age yet. Hopefully the other two like to party, or else next year might be awkward and boring. Last year was probably a little too fun, didn't do so hot because I have terrible self discipline.

adult = 18 years of age.

not "adult" in the way of however someone may define it.

you can buy a shotgun, and vote & join the army but can't stay in a girls room? LULZ

freshman girls are very very easy to manipulate into sleeping with you.

some of them just practically throw themselves at you, using alcohol as an excuse for the behavior that they really wanted to exhibit anyway.

edit: i guess nowadays... it's even more easier... i wouldn't know , been out of it for 10+ years.

its really too bad freshmen girls are annoying as shit

at Ohio State - age doesn't matter. Most of the girls are annoying as shit, class rank doesn't matte - each rank has their better ones. But seriously, at this school it feels like High School v2, pisses me off because the fine ass ones tend to keep that same immaturity level, even as juniors and seniors. Really getting tired of that... I seem to be one of the few who just wants to actually slow down, find a good one. Not an easy task when most of the ladies seem to be dumb as bricks and stuck on high school mode for 4 extra years.

Heh. Hardly. Been there, done that.

OP is going ot be crying in his pillow over some skank in two months. Just wait.

First few weeks are teh best. Just make sure you adjust and realize you have to actually pass your classes. No one is gonna be there to tell you to study

first week in the dorms and no parents/school for the firt time in your life = priceless

I saw a number of people not get past the first semester because of a deadly combination of two factors:

1. They went to a HS that was so easy they weren't prepared for the tougher work of college.
2. They didn't know how to manage their time because they never had to do it before.

Don't let that be you, OP.

I, on the other hand, did fine in the first semester. The second one is what did me in. Lost my scholarship and ended up on probation. The painful lesson I had to learn the hard way was "There is always someone who has nothing to do, and is looking for someone to do it with." Too often I was the person who was badgered into doing something - trip to the bar, hang with the women, games in the student union... you name it.

I don't remember seeing any real adults in my dorm. That is why it is a dorm.

I don't say it often, but.....meh.

Life at home wasn't bad at all though. 🙂

Pft, I lived in a "no-boys" sorority house for 2 weeks.

I stayed only one night in the AOPi house at University of Illinois for a weekend... it almost came crashing down when my girlfriends friend ended up to be my first... well it was akward... Man they ate well!

Pi never tasted so good!
