I love American express

I have a vaja case that I couldn't return. Filed a return protection claim with American Express. They credited me the cost of the case and I don't even have to return it. Talk about excellent customer service.

Good stuff. But I don't know if this is exclusive to Amex. Any good CC worth its salt should do the same. My Chase stolen when I lost my wallet. The fvcker used my card for various random ass grocery purchases and eating out.

I called them and they gladly took them off. Turns out, one of them was a restaurant that I ate myself, oops.

I dislike Amex because the perks are mediocre compared to competition and the HASSLE of "I wonder if they also take Amex" is super frustrating (My GF uses it and gets rejected like 30-40% of the time).

I was expecting to return it, especially since it costed quite a bit. Kind've surprised they didn't want it back. I'm not going to complain though.

That's actually awesome. If you truly don't want it, you could sell it and get free money.

Too bad it was just a phone case, but if it was a computer....

Getting a CC to remove charges due to theft is quite different than Hey, this didnt work out for me and I cant return it so please reverse the charges.

As far as perks go, thats subjective and personal. For me, and my spending habits, its the best card. I cant speak to the 30-40% rejection rate...in the 17 years Ive carried it *Ive ran into maybe 20 places that didnt take Amex. *shrug*

*In the USA. I travel internationally a fair bit, and many places dont take it, thus I use Visa when I travel out of country.

Do you have the plat card? You must love the lounge access

AMEX f'n rocks. I had a bike that got stolen and they credited me the cost with their theft protection. The only places that really dont take it are the small chinese restaurants, otherwise I use it everywhere.

I love Japanese-Korean girls. I find them to be the best of both worlds.

I mean, Japanese girls are crazy in the one Japanese girl throwing up in the mouth of another Japanese girl way.

Korean girls are crazy as in: they're likely to put a brick through your windshield or stab you while you're sleeping.

I find that a mix of the two levels out to the perfect culmination of crazy. It's pretty hot.

I use my costco amex to buy everything and have been getting ~ $600/yr cash back for years.

I use a chase sapphire card for the random place that doesnt take amex

Amex actually just pissed me off about this. My wife's card that hadn't been used in 5 months suddenly started being used 1000 miles away in chicago. We reported it as fraud and they refunded most things.

However, there were 3 AT&T long distance calls they refused to credit and made us call AT&T. I told them that is what we have them for, why do we need to call them when we had nothing to do with it? Working in the industry, I called them back and pulled the legal requirement that they either remove the charges or prove they are valid per Regulation Z... they took them off, but that shouldn't have occurred.

Amex does rock!

I got a 62" LCD for the Superbowl. My dumbass friend spilled beer all over it and it stopped working.
I tried to take it back to the store, but they said they could smell the beer.
I told Amex and they credited my statement. A few days later, the TV worked great.
The process worked so great, I did the same thing 86 times.
I now have TVs on every square inch of my house, including all ceilings.

I love leather, but I don't like leather cases for small devices like phones because they add too much bulk.

yeah, sort of defeats the purpose of the thin and light idea. my friends ipad case is like that...makes it damn near as thick as some laptops. i got a leather case for my transformer, because the case options such and are limited, but its not that bulky...his case is at least twice as thick as mine. its huge
