Someone started a thread but never added a poll :disgust:

Great motivational music from the 80's.
One of my favorites, which movie was this from?
:music::music::music:
"Try to be best
?Cause you?re only a man
And a man?s gotta learn to take it
:music:
Try to believe
Though the going gets rough
That you gotta hang tough to make it
:music:
History repeats itself
Try and you?ll succeed
:music:
Never doubt that you?re the one
And you can have your dreams!":music::music::music::music:

I never really dug 80's music that much, there seemed to be a heavy reliance on those really cheesy sounding synthesizers. Grrr I hated those cheap keyboard drums and pianos, the stuff they used in the 60's and 70's sounded much better

I was just about to say that....esp. the 90's/00's....WTF were you thinking?

The only thing good I see is Nirvana and The Ramones....and that's stretching it.

LOL, it reflects my biases against them :)

edit: For the 90's, Baby got back was the funniest song I heard. I couldn't figure out what the fascination was with Vanilla Ice, but I remember he appeared in my favorite childhood movie, TMNT. Macarena what were we thinking there? Spice Girls that was a big hit with the girls, especially one I really fell for, Boy I hated the Hansons, and Nirvana got me into alternative.

80s music is my favorite but none of the bands/artists you mentioned.

B52s? Wham? That's the worst of the 80s.

The best of the 80s? The Smiths Outside of The Smiths, ABC, Depeche Mode, Culture Club, Pet Shop Boys, Billy Joel, Human League, Visage, Yaz, Berlin, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Classix Nouveaux. That is good 80s music.

American 80s music is garbage, except for Billy Joel.

I believe that's from one of the Karate Kid movies. Good song.

Your picks to represent the 60's are atrocious.

60's and 70's are my faves.

Doesn't this poll reflect an age demographic more than music quality? I voted 80's but probably because my most impressionable years were then. Hippies/peaceniks would probably vote differently, as would Grease-era veterans and current college students.

Some people are mentally ill. 80s music was better than 90's and 00's but not by much.
