Raced a 2006 clk500 this morning on my way to work from a stop llight.

We were tied the whole way but he edged me out at the end. The end being where the road went from 2 lanes to 1 he had the lead by < a carlength so i had to back off so not to cause an accident.

🙁

Im a bit distraught over this.

get your balls out of your purse.

next time, maybe you'll want the win enough to race better.

the conditions were hardly ideal. It was pouring rain. He had more driving experience than me though I think he was about 50+

I was surprised myself I really didnt think the old man would try and run me. I knew the merge was coming so I just bounced when it turned green to get the front position. To my surprise he anticipated my move and he bounced too and then once I realized that it would have been shameful to let the old me get the lead from me without a battle so it turned into a race.

So basically, you, for some inexplicable reason, decided to race a more experienced driver, in a lighter car, in the pouring rain, on public streets, just for the sake of not wanting an "old man" to get in front of you? 😕

I think the first 2 replies pretty much nailed it.

i live in a pretty rural area it added a little spice to a typically boring commute. And I prolly made that old mans day he got to try out his fancy schmancy new benzo against a worthy competitor and he won!
