are you an idiot??? i don't care it it was a 30 foot race, his car is FASTER than your car. it has a more powerful engine and it doesn't weigh as much. it does matter if you are going 3 miles or 435.54 yards. his car is faster than yours.

so your saying that a car tuned to be fastest between 80-120 cannot beat a care thats tuned to be fastest between 0-60
 
Reality is on the street most people can't take their car to the outer limits of their ability, especially when you're talking about the performance of the cars we're talking about.

It's more about how big your testicles are, how dangerous you're willing to go, and your skill in not screwing up. The fact that the old guy won is, like the OP originally stated, more a product of the other guys driving experience, and the road conditions.

But all you people claiming one car being faster or not, have never truly raced.... I myself learned it the other day in my MS6... sure my car is capable of 150+, but I frankly don't have the testicles to go that fast, so I only win if my mentally-acceptable speed, and turn speed is greater than my opponent. Which I admit it often isnt.

OK. Maybe it's not complete BS. But anyone who owns a rather late model BMW or MB is not going to go racing in the rain. Some little Dodge Neon or Honda Civic owner probably would but not someone who has splashed over $50K on their car
I own a 04 BMW and I am certainly not going to take the chance of doing something I know is pretty stupid like racing in the rain. Dry road is another story.

SO, either this is total BS or you are a total idiot for racing under less that perfect road conditions.

A) distraught because clearly I hate not being the best when I choose to compete
B) I did give him the thumbsup at a stoplight a couple miles further up the road.
C) it was just fun, doesnt chagnet the fact i dont like losing in anything.
