Who gives a crap about numbers, really? You can either spend your day staring at tiny numbers on the engine and make sure it matches the number on the body, or you can spend your day tearing down the street with 500 horsepower.

If you want your car to be worth anything and not depreciate like mad, then you'll care about numbers. Speaking in terms of collectors cars.

Most cars are worthless anyway. What's the difference between spending $20k on this Mustang as opposed to spending $20k to create an "original" one? Different strokes for different folks. I'd rather drive this monster than a "real" one.

JZero, an all Original Shelby GT350 would fetch much more than 20k, so there's the point right there :)

That just about discounts your opinion to nothing.
Not like it was worth anything before, but now it's just funny.

He could just be a guy that had the desire and resources available to take a dead sexy looking car and stick in some modern engineering. Can't discount him for that.

Ricer? Pffffft. Since when did a blown V8 become rice?

Do you know how much an original Shelby GT350 is worth now? Especially after the movie, their value shot up a lot. There was an article in the paper about duplicate GT350's being made in a shop in Dallas. The clones went for $80,000 each. They're not even originals either. A GT350 in original form is not "worthless"

"The movie" is Gone in 60 Seconds, yes? Wasn't it GT500s in that movie?

IIRC, the movie claimed it was a '68 GT500, when infact it was a modded '67 fastback with a GT500 body kit.

Yeah, I remember reading that somewhere, but they were purported to be 500s.

I wouldn't say you got 0wn3d, you weren't completely wrong, mint 350's can bring in around 40-50K if I remember...

That's all good and well, but some people really care about protecting their investment. Fact is, a clean original will bring in way more money than a cleanly "updated" GT350

Enough with the uber-quoting.

Some people have cars cause they like cars. Other people think there cars are investments. The first group has fun driving/showing/modifying/racing thier cars, and the second group has fun letting the car sit in a temperature controlled garage all the time.

After all, it only matters how much the car is worth if you're trying to sell it, doesn't make a damn bit of difference while you're driving it around with a giant grin on your face.
