Making fun of overweight people isn't exactly condusive to encouraging us to lose weight.

Hmm...maybe 250 or so, and she's 5'2" at the most.

Just how you like 'em, huh? ;)

Seriously, working at the CDC, you think she would have some idea that being a fatass = not good. And that moving 100' shouldnt put you out of breath unless it is near vertical, or you are sprinting. Never mind needing to stop to catch your breath...
Apparently, working for the CDC exempts you from following any of our health guidlines. Hell, even the cafeteria served fried chicken livers with gravy every Monday as recently as a year ago. People here are hardly what one might call "physical specimens" for the most part.

You're right, of course. But, I hate to say it... you're in the wrong place for positive encouragement. The average age here is 20 and they just aren't mature enough to deal with issues like this. The funny thing is, half or better will be overweight themselves by the time they're 40.

They're just making fun of and insulting their own destiny... that's all.

And walking around acting like you cant do something about it isnt condusive to losing weight, either. Much more condusive to status quo.

Try getting up 45 minutes earlier 3 or 4 days a week and going running (or stationary bike for when the weather sucks) for 30 minutes before breakfast. Also, eat just a little bit less or a little bit healthier. You'll lose 1.5-2 lbs each week. Or at least, that is what I am currently doing, and that is the results I'm getting. Sure, 5:15 AM isnt a happy time to wake up, but knowing you are actually doing something about being overweight is a good feeling. As I found out, you cant have a sit-on-your-butt-all-day job and eat like you are still installing fence (summer job), without some bad things happening.

Plus if you have a g/f, you can work out a "rewards" system ;).

Many people here have 10,000+ posts and are making fun of fat people :) Geez you would not happen to be hiding behind a computer acting like you are perfectly fit are you?

Mwildthing posts your pic Mr. 12,000+ posts and is in perfect health.

Fuasto , you also Mr. 16,000 posts

Minendo, 24,000+ posts .....

Actually, I find it hard to belive that you three making rude comments are not lard asses . You apparently have trouble backing away from the computer, and being that you spend so much time on the computer and not exercising, I am willing to bet that your keyboard resemble a lunch buffet with all the food crumbs in it, from you stuffin your face for you're too damn lazy to back your collective lard asses from the computer to eat a healthy meal.

Me thinks it is a safe bet that you three are fat. But you know I could care less if you life is shortened for being fat, for wheather you die right now as your read this post or if you die 30 years from now ... your life has no impact on mine .. so be fat, be happy and die whenever you want .... it doesn't matter.

Bad news bud. I race bikes in my spare time. I ride an average of 200-300 miles per week, not including my daily 16-mile round-trip mountain bike commute to work. Trust me, I practice what I preach. ;)

Yup. Fausto only has so many posts because he works for the federal government, and if he was caught doing actual work while on shift, well... sh!t, I dont even know what would happen to him. No one has ever caught a federal civil employee working before :p

Yeah right

How does someones weight impact you?

First people are freaking about secondhand smoke is ruining my happiness of life...... ... now we have jerks like you trying to tie someone else's weight with your happiness of life.

I am 6 foot tall and weight 197lbs, so i could loose some weight.

I find it extremely hard to belive that all these people making rude comments are perfectly fit, hey but I could be wrong for it is a well known fact that working on a computer all day burns what, like 3 calories :)

What are the odds :) at 197 lbs I am the heaviest person in this thread:) Imagine that :)

Here's some of my HR monitor data from a recent ride. Note how long my heart rate stays over 170 (and this is only part of the ride). Still think I'm a fatass?

Asking someone to lose weight through hard work is one thing. Making fun of them and insulting them is another.

A lot of this comes from people quite like myself. I used to be able to eat anything and everything and not gain a pound. I never understood how people could get fat and always thought it was all their fault.

It's not, in many cases. They can eat the same things you do, and do the same amount of activity you do, yet gain weight like crazy. It takes MORE for them to control their weight than it takes for you. And for many people, the weight creeps up on them and yo-yo diets have made it nearly impossible to lose the weight because their body has been thrown into starvation mode too many times.

Like I said before... Just wait until most of you are 35-45 years old and struggling with weight gain.

I was lucky. I saw the weight coming on early at 34 and did something about it that did not include yo-yo dieting, so it's fairly easy for me to lose fat. For others, it is not so easy.

Man.. You guys are so damn belligerent against overweight people. What if they have some kind of medical condition that prevents them from exercising? I certainly hope that you're never in their position. I'll try and have as much sympathy for some of your ugly asses when I see you on the street. These people might be able to lose weight at some point in their lives, but you ugly asses out there are SOL short of signing up for extreme makeover.

Sal
