Nvidia drivers and ATI cards do not mix well. I installed updated nforce drivers and they completely fubared my ATI drivers. After multiple driver cleaner attempts and registry manipulation I was forced to reinstall windows. This is the second time I have had this happen on different boxes. It sucks.

Only idiot here is you... You're just getting driver conflicts, not hardware. Do as the others have suggested... completely remove the drivers for both cards, reboot, reinstall ATi card, viola, should work fine.
