Nvidia drivers and ATI cards do not mix well. I installed updated nforce drivers and they completely fubared my ATI drivers. After multiple driver cleaner attempts and registry manipulation I was forced to reinstall windows. This is the second time I have had this happen on different boxes. It sucks.

so that when you install an ATI card, you get a sh!t for a computer. after upgrading my video card to an ATI, my computer fails to shutdown properly (immediately after installing the video card). what's more, the comptuer won't boot into windows. my computer attempts to boot to CD (even w/o a freaking CD in the drive) and scans some mac address?!??! wtf. this can't be a problem due to drivers, considering it occurs before ever booting into windows. :|

Don't bash anything when the one at fault is YOU.
yah it's my fault cuz the card doesn't work. stfu you idiot.

Only idiot here is you...:p You're just getting driver conflicts, not hardware. Do as the others have suggested... completely remove the drivers for both cards, reboot, reinstall ATi card, viola, should work fine.
