Is there a conspiracy you don't believe in?!?

???

So you're an expert on Lime disease?

Not that I am, but I do a lot of backpacking into very remote backcountry whwere there's NO help if troubl. Because of that I've studied up a on relevant hazards, including the ticks out there in the High Sierra. I learned that Lime disease fanned out from Old Lyme circa 1970's, starting from experimental tic release on Plum Island.

So that's the information I got. It may not be right, but that's got nothing to do with your idea of "conspiracy theory."

If you ARE an expert, I'd be genuinely interested in learning what you know that might help a backpacker, because I'm often in tic habitats. Fortunately they rarely feast on me, but I do sometimes find them on people who accompany me, especially in their hair. You can't feel those suckers because their venom numbs the area where they bite in.

They're probably somewhere in your room and crawl on you when you sleep. Get that place cleared out. And oh yeah, have fun sleeping tonight 🙂.

rip out all carpet in your house. replace with polished concrete or wooden floor boards. Bannish pets outside. Throw away anything that is lying on the floor. Shave your head and body completely. Don't stop until you achieve success!

Yeah...I was wondering that...are you outdoors a lot?

That's the thing. I don't really go in any places where there would be ticks. I mean, when I walk to a next-door shopping center (which I did yesterday), I cross through a patch (appx. 3 feet) of woody area, but thats it.
Thats all it takes if there are ticks in that area.

Exactly. Ticks sit on branches or leaves with their front legs spread out to catch onto anything that wanders by. And that happens to be you. Walking on grass can even be enough.

>do you have dog

My family home is in the woods. Amusingly, I ended up with less ticks in the years we had dogs than those when we didn't. Popular explanation was that the ticks preferred the dogs. Personally I suspect they can't tell and the dogs just catch them because they walk in front of the person on walks.

No dog, but an indoor cat.

Are you sure it's a tick and not LICE!?
it sounds like lice.

OP get checked by a nurse or doctor. lice will live on your bedding, furniture, comb, etc.
you need to get off your butt and take some action.

I've only found one damn bug in my hair, I thought lice came in a big pack?

That's enough to pick up a load of ticks. The woody area is a concentrated tick habitat, High brush with pavement on both sides.

At this point, you should be saying "I'm positive it was a tick. I went online and looked at pictures of ticks." I also didn't think that they'd just hang out in your bedroom for a few days, waiting for a chance to jump on you...

Yeah, I shower and wash my hair daily. But, every couple weeks for the past two months, I go to scratch my head, and I grab a fvcking tick. From there, I freak out, search my hair 50 times for ticks, shower multiple times, and still find nothing. Repeat every two weeks. WHERE ARE THE DAMN THINGS COMING FROM?!
