that movie made me want to try heroin.

i can't even imagine how good it must feel if people screw up their lives like that for it.

It doesn't "feel that good," it's a friggen addiction meaning your body ends up needing it or you get really sick withdrawal symptoms. If you watch it it does show one of them in withdrawal, doesn't it? It's in the end when Shawn or Marlon Waynes is in prison. He goes through withdrawals which really sucks, big time.

yah but if you do something and then get really sick from it even if you have the "more" craving you don't want to do it cuz you know how sick you get.

i've heard first hand accounts of herion use and while most of it scares the crap out of me because of statements like ".. its like dying and being in heaven" and when i ask if i can try they tell me that they will never tell me where to get it because "its so good that the worst part is that even if you could stop, you don't want to"

i know im not actually going to try it because i know that nobody will let me and i know that its the absolute stupidest thing ive ever wanted to do but i am just so curious to see what is so good about it.

This is one of the true reasons why we as Americans dont have a hold on the war on drugs. People are always going to want to try them no matter what anyone says or does. Even if they see people begging to suck a persons you know what to have a hit of heroin. It doesnt faze anyone unless it actually happens to them. And then it's their turn to try and tell someone "No don't do it, I wish I could go back to before I ever tried doing heroin!"

Wow. I just watched Requiem of a Dream and, i cant even explain the reaction. Just wow. Question, Did Mozart write the music and someone did a remix of it, because it sounds Mozart-ish (if thats a word). Either way, wow. Fallenhero and I are speechless.

The Kronos (sp?) Quartet has some pretty bizarre music. I've seen some of their videos on the ARTS network.

I thought the movie was great. Drugs are bad, bad, bad stuff. I think the anti-drug message is very good in this movie. Clearly it doesn't single out teenagers by indicating they are the only potential drug users. Mrs. Goldfarb was cranked up on those diet pills which sent a message to teens that even mature adults can have drug problems.

All in all, it was a pretty wild movie. I still remember much about it even though it's been about 5 months since I last watched. I guess I could wait another year before watching it again.

If you're a little bummed out by this movie, then pop in a DVD with some light humor in it. Joe Dirt comes to mind. You'll laugh your way back to sanity. ;)
