I just started watching Farscape on Netflix.....

and I can't decide if I like these people or not. I'm just on Season 1 Episode 9 "DNA Mad Scientist", and they are pretty f-ed up. The show is a little corny sometimes, but I've heard a lot of good things about it and a necro thread I saw here the other day made me finally decide to start it, but do they get more likable? I like Crichton and Aeryn OK, but the others are the ones I can't decide on.......

The part that made me kinda wish the rest of the people would get sucked out of an airlock is where they forcibly remove the Pilot's arm for some maps. You don't get much more screwed up than that.

The characters are not saints but they do grow on you.

The show gets weirder in later seasons but stays fun. And it has a real ending in The Peacekeeper Wars.

This. It gets better the further you go. At least it doesn't suffer from Walking-Dead-ism, where the characters do something unbelievably stupid (again) just as you're starting to like them (again).

I just started watching this a couple weeks ago. I am almost through season 2. It gets much better in season 2! Scorpius is awesome!

You're definitely going to need to get Peacekeeper Wars to finish it off. It is a great series and it definitely grows on you.

Pretty much this, without the Peacekeeper wars, there is a huge cliff hanger, and you really do want to see this story come to a close.

I remember it first airing and could not wait for next week's episode. I started about five episodes into the first season. Some of the best episodes are directed by Ben Brower.

I keep hearing about Scorpius and how awesome he is, so it makes me want to keep watching. I had to turn it off last night around episode 10 cause I was having a hard time staying interested. Scorpius hasn't shown up yet, though. I'll have to soldier through it until season 2 at least, cause I want to give the show an honest chance. Besides, some of my favorite shows had terrible starts, so I don't want to give up on it too soon.

Thanks for the responses!!

It wasn't really until season 2 when they started heavily with the Sebacean vs Scarran war that it really got going. The first season was more getting to know everyone.

The first season can certainly be a drag in some episodes, but Season 2 and onward really start to get into the meat, especially with the further development of the Peacekeeper-Scarran conflict brewing.

I binge watched the whole thing in a few weeks on Netflix.

It's pretty corny, and there are a few characters that I just thought were stupid and unnecessary. On the whole though it was not bad.

Overall I give it a 3 out of 5.

I'm watching again, on "Til The Blood Runs Clear" right now, and this episode is pretty good. I guess it's just hit or miss to begin with, like any other show. I'm gonna stick with it at least through season 2. Thanks again for all the replies!!!

I liked it because of Scorpius, an excellent antagonist.

Same here. The cool parts were enough to make me ignore the corny parts as well.

Plus, anything associated with Jim Henson Studios interests me. I wasn't into it as much as my wife (who bawled at the end, about Dargo) but came away from Farscape more impressed than critical.
