I know a few people who smoke pot. For the most part, I think they are morons but whatever. I've smoked pot maybe 3 times ever, and never really saw the point.

That said, I do think that if they legalized weed, I would be more than happy to smoke a blunt every so often, since it does seem like a nicer high than alchohol, which I really cant stand.

I wonder how many others would "pick up" the weed habit if it ever became legal? I am one of the most anti-alchohol, anti-drug people you'd ever meet, but for some reason, legal weed doesn't seem so bad.

I guess if I would change my mind, so would many others. I guess it's good that it is illegal then...lol

As for myself, I wouldn't be remotely tempted. Not because I have some moral objection but just that smoking anything doesn't interest me. I'm perfectly happy with my current list of vices, which includes but is not limited to Peanut M&M's and foil-wrapped Hostess Ding-Dongs 🙂

Alcohol is fun, yes, but weed is better. Can still use it just like the common uses of alcohol. Enjoy a fine wine at dinner? Well, replace that with a fine fat-ass blunt filled with high-grade product, or even have a vaporizer brought to the table. That dinner will become so amazing. 😛
Howabout at bars? Alcohol works best here, yes, but there could be some fun with just a little smoking adding to the mix.

And I can imagine, if marijuana became completely legal to sell publicly, cannabutter and cannaoil would become legal. True Organic brands right there. 🙂 And oh the uses of it in baking are immense, would never have to worry about smoking or vaporizing if you just brought a few cookies. Of course that stuff would have to be made with high-grade stuff so that it doesn't lead to the body-buzz that makes you not want to do anything that requires getting off the couch.

No, not really into killing brain cells for a good time. Same reason that I don't go out and get drunk on weekends.

[edit] If legalization increased medical research and I wound up with a medical condition where pill-form wound up being a prescription, I would take it, same as I would with any other treatment. I'm not rabidly anti-drug, just not into it as a mechanism for having a good time.

Longer, less intense high.

I saw a graph once comparing the effects. Smoking looked exponential, where eating looked more of stretched out bell curve.

You don't just eat it - you have to bake it into something fatty. So you can make brownies, cookies, chocolate candies, etc. with weed in them. It's not bad for your body in any of the ways that smoking is.
 
nah. i don't think i would smoke any more regardless of the legal status.

i cut down a few weeks ago... i used to blaze 1-2 times per week... sometimes more... was chronic in university. i'm shooting for maybe 1 or 2 times per month.... maybe less. there's a time and a place for such behaviour. i have been clinging on to the party life for a long time although it hasn't hindered me in becoming successful in my career. i have a ton of free time... i work M-F 8-4 and have no kids. but after you get into a weed rut, you unconsciously "make" time for gettin stoned and chilling and become a hermit. that's what i did anyway. i am one of those personality types that seems to mesh perfectly with pot use. it made it easy to justify the abuse. if i had some, i would smoke it if i had nothing much going on. i was never really able to hold some and be responsible with it. there will come a day when my wife and i want to have children. i don't want to have to shrug the habit off then, i'd rather be a man for a few years first.

there are consequences to living your life in the clouds. you might be happier than a pig in shit but opportunity and life pass you by.

i don't even think you can get "busted" per se with personal amounts here in Canada. maybe a fine and your weed confiscated? no clue, it never happened to me.
 
Here's a question; how many of you would find it funny, if it were legal, to sneak it into brownies at a party where non-users attended? Would anyone do that if it were legalized, where they wouldn't if it were legal?

No idea why this thread prompted that question in my mind. None of my friends would be likely to do that but I'd be a little more aware of what I ate if I were somewhere unfamiliar...

THC is oil-soluble, so if you put weed in hot oil/butter/whatever, you'll get oil laced with THC.

Another way to get high without smoking is to use a vapourizer. THC burns at a lower temperature than the cellulose/etc in the plant, so a vapourizer extracts the THC and mixes it with air. Tthe result is you breath in hot air laced with THC and perhaps trace amounts of bad particles.
