I just realized if weed became legal, I'd probably smoke it.

Already said I do (in fact, I could not walk or use my hands without the biologic called Enbrel) and I would take marijuana in non-smoking form if prescribed to me by a doctor for a particular condition.

FWIW, marinol is shit compared to what you can get on the streets - my gf was given some of that shit when she was in the hospital

Well with better legal status, they could make more effective prescriptions, if not straight marijuana in plant form, as opposed to only shit like marinol.

Problem with Marinol is that it's pure THC. And that's it. Half of what makes marijuana so effective at being good for the body isn't even THC, it's Cannabinol. These two chemicals work together and hit the CB1 and CB2 receptors.
Marinol is a great concept, but isn't as effective as it could be.

What doctors should do, and seems to be the case in California, is prescribe marijuana, but also highly highly suggest, if not demand (as much as a doctor can demand) the use of a vaporizer.
The only other thing I can see happening is maybe creating a gel-cap, which contains oil and the extracted marijuana chemicals. So it's exactly what you'd get from eating brownies, but it's a pill.

Srsly, my GF's tolerance is so high that that shit won't work. We've used both volcano's and super vapezillas before, but she could literally sit there for an hour and vaporize away to no effect.

For people suffering from tons of pain, as far as I'm concerned, the only effective method is hash through bongs.

I'd try it once just to say I did. Otherwise I don't see the point.

The point is it makes everything awesome hahaha

I've had awesome times while sober...

I'm pretty easy going by nature. A beer or two to lighten the mood is typically all I need. 🙂

I don't like smoking pot, mainly because I don't like ingesting any hot smoke into my lungs. Sure, it's not as harsh as tobacco, but it's uncomfortable, and fuck it, I don't want to.

That said, my buddies whipped up a few pounds of weed butter over the last week, and baked some incredibly potent cookies and brownies. I'm not one to indulge in pot all that frequently, but I figured, "why not?" 26 hours later when I sobered up, I found myself wondering why I don't do this more often...

So if weed were legal, I don't know that I'd smoke all that much, but I'd become a master baker overnight.

Holy crap, is it really that potent? Are there any ill effects from it, like an alchohol hangover?

The stuff they made was pretty strong (the brownies especially). I smoke pot maybe once every 6 months or so, so I don't have a tolerance for it. But I know what to expect in terms of the high I feel when I'm smoking. Eating it was a much more subdued high; I didn't feel like every neuron in my brain was exploding simultaneously, I was just sort of mellow and giggly. A good body high. But I was expecting to feel totally fucked up, so I ended up eating more, and more.... I only had 3 cookies and maybe 3 brownies, but it was enough to get me totally baked (get it? haha!) for a loooooong time.

There were no ill effects. I went to bed, woke up, still very, very high (and now much more aware of just how high I actually was). My main concern was whether I'd be sober by Monday because my new boss was starting. But there were no ill effects associated with the come down... It wasn't even a come down, more like drifting back into conciousness after nodding off for a minute. The difference between that and a hangover is night and day.

nope, i hate smoke, it's disgusting. When they make it anally absorbable i'll think about it.

I lol'd at this.

Why not just eat some good brownies? That has got to better than putting ANYTHING up the butt.

You know, since alcohol is easily absorbed into the bloodstream anally, maybe all he needs is a couple spoonfuls of cannabutter up the ol' poop chute...

where is Ns1 when you need him?

Rookie mistake!

No, not really into killing brain cells for a good time.

go do some research before posting

*psst* THC has been shown to be a neurotoxin in certain cases.

With that being said, there are potential uses for it as a neural protectorate (oh the irony) in certain disease states. Meaning that if you have an diseased brain then THC may be of a benefit, but if you are 'normal' it has shown that it does have a neurotoxicity effect.

It is a neurotoxin. That's why it evolved in concentrated levels. It is a particularly nasty insecticide.

For humans and other higher organisms, that effect that fries the neural net and other pathways in little bugs gives us a nice tickle. A nice, fun tickle.
