my aunts been a real bitch towards my family, not giving my kids Chanukah presents like she does every year (i get her kids every year) but i just shrugged it off, shes been giving my side of the family the cold shoulder lately and well... im ****** tired of it.


so she calls my up in a panic and says


I need you go come over right now!
my computer wont start!
omg i have important files on it!

(did't even say hello)

so i said,
$45 an hour, 2 hour minimum.
she said huh?
i said or call up geeksquad she how much they chage)

oh so next year to can explain why all the other neices and nephews get presents while my kids sit there and watch but not getting any.
 
I dunno man. I probably would have helped her. Not everyone hands out presents. I didn't always get presents from every family member (my dad had 5 brothers and 6 sisters, mom had 1 brother and 5 sisters).

My family isn't always the BEST family in the world, but if someone needs my help, I don't give them the shaft like that.

Sounds like your kids got a taste of 'life isn't fair.'

Instead of responding like a child, perhaps you should have detailed your distaste to said relative in a productive way instead of stooping to her level?

It probably won't, of course. But sometimes it's worth the pain to just vent. To get your turn of revenge and then deal with it later. Something about that irrational chimp sense of fairness we all have.
 
Well, I don't particularly see anything wrong with the reply. She got what was coming to her, if in fact she is the bitch the OP says she is (i.e. more to it than simply not giving presents). What goes around comes around, and taking the high ground in this case would only reinforce his aunt's behavior. "Oh, I can keep being a bitch but my family still helps me anyway!"

IMO rude people don't deserve polite treatment. Respect is earned, not deserved.
 
Some people just sound stupid when they say the whole "shouldn't stoop to her level" phrase. If I was stabbed, should I productively walk to a hospital while being chased by said assailant .. or fight back? Go ahead with your "unchildish non-cavemen like" action.
