Like Doctor said - get Win2k. Many people like myself prefer the soundblaster live cards. Otherwise great system and good luck building it.

I heard Seagate sucks in the IDE HD department.. I would get a Maxtor or IBM HD instead.

Most everything you listed was acceptable, except that one.....

Anyhow, typically you want opinions BEFORE you order something, heh.

I was under the impression that sb live had compatibility issues with amd processors, and I heard that they don't sound as good as the gtxp

You ask us to give you opinions on your ordered system, then tell us to not give you opinions because you already ordered it.

Why are you wasting our time?

<< What is wrong with windows me? >>

Just a few off the top of my head:

-where's my dos prompt
-what the heck is eating up my resources
-why is it always hanging at shutdown
-Damnit.... not another active desktop recovery...
-BSOD's

Keep the Game Theatre :) but please for you own good get rid of Windows ME! It just sucks... there really is no reasons to not use win2k anymore it's damn stable and in my opinion it feels faster than win me or 98.

Oh yeah and as for the SB live having issues with amd systems, it's with the via chipset in the mobo. As for the Game Theatre sounding better than the sblive! I can definately say that is true. I recently got some new speakers so I put my old spakers (altec acs56) on my bros comp which has an sblive and played a few of my mp3s to test it out and god the sound was sooooo much better with my game theatre.

I agree with everyone else, get Win2K. You also might want to consider getting a Global Win CAK38 or OCZ Gladiator since the orbs have a history of chipping CPU cores.

Again, get Win2K... or just borrow it from a friend
Chrome Orb might not cut it with the 1.4 GHz especially if your PC68 is unmodded and comes with the default Adda fans, I have one and i know;), with a MC-462A, CPU temps can get as high as 48C under load
You might be better off with an Epox 8K7A, it has more features and is cheaper, but I'm taking it that you like blue
And is the hard drive a Barracuda IV?

and finally, i might be helpful to post this before you click buy

I personally dont care if you condone piracy, but because of the stupidA** US legal system, anand could get in trouble for people on his boards doing so. Not like no one else does.... but for future reference :)

As the original "I don't need W2K, I can live with Win98" Rockhead (King Rockhead, actually!) I can say w/o a doubt to get W2K Pro. I am a gamer, pure and simple...but that's not all I do. I also do lots of PowerPoint presentations for work, some photo editing and the usual email/surfing stuff.

Comparing W2K to Win98 or WinMe is like comparing a first-generation Hyundai Excel (dunno if you're old enough to remember them...no offense!) to a 2001 Honda Prelude. Both run. But only one will run consistently and without problems!

Also, lose the Orb. You're asking for trouble by using one of those. Not getting down on you. I had no freakin' idea what I was doing when I built my first system.

What brand of PC2100 ram? This is VERY important!

You will need a CD burner sooner or later. Prices have come down so much on them. Once you use one and say "damn...I just saved 600 megabytes of data to this here little disc!" you'll not remember how you lived without one. You can find 8x burners for the same price as regular CDRoms. Get one.

Other than that, sweet rig!!!!!!!!! Diggin' on the GF3. I need one!

I already have a burner, forgot to mention it. It is a yamaha 16x burner. The brand for the ddr ram is micron or samsung. Not sure which one. Also yeah I guess I will call in the morning and ask for win2k instead of windows me, is win2k pro the one you are talking about? and what is wrong with the copper orb? is it bad for a cpu fan? Yeah the hard drive is a Barracuda IV.

The mounting system for the Orbs requires a kind of "push and twist" method. Most probably, you will crack the die of your CPU by doing this. This is a common occurance, unfortunately and you read about it at least once a week here on this forum. You can get a better CPU HSF for less $$$. GlobalWin FOP32-1 is one good idea.

Looks great (Great choice on mobo). I agree, go Win2k. Besides, ME/9x can't even use the 512MB of RAM, it's limit is 256MB.

All looks pretty nice apart from the Seagate HDD..... I've found them pretty loud and sometimes respond kinda slow

These seagate hard drives are the quietest hdd's on the market at the moment. They use a new fluid baring technology which makes them very quiet.
