My blood pressure got up to 165/89. That's really high. Can our blood pressures spike to that every once in a while for a few minutes with no problems?

I could feel my heart racing and I got a really bad headache while I was fixing the problem because I had about 100 people around me and then afterwards I went outside to my car, got my blood pressure machine, and took it.

People like you shouldn't have blood pressure machines.

I didn't until I got diagnosed with HBP when I was 19 and told to get one.

You're a hypochondriac. If you continue to insist on being like that, it's going to kill you.

I'm not a hypochondriac. Hypochondriacs make up problems. I have an actual issue with my blood pressure. How is that a hypochondriac?

It's very possible for blood pressure to increase during stress. Google white coat syndrome for simple, commonly experienced proof.

Look up the definition of hypochondria. Hypochondria is the "morbid concern about one's health, especially when accompanied by delusions of physical ailments/disease".
Yes hypochondria is most commonly associated with fabricated ailments, but that's not the words only use.

Im sorry I just had to chuckle inside because if you think thats high, try mine (190-180/120-100) and the stress that keeps me there even on pills to bring it down. I been running this for years. Your bp is really just little over the norm 120/80, IM sure easily controllable with pills or just diet change. OH and its the last number that will kill you when you get in the 100's.

Id kill for your BP and the little stress you have.

Exactly.

Well my blood pressure is USUALLY 136/80 on medicatin (one tiny pill a day, I used to be on more but I lost 100 pounds).

What I'm asking now mainly is.... when I was majorly stressed, it jumped up to 170/90... is this OK to happen every once in a while

What Im saying is your only 10 points over from thge norm and I run mine this high all the time and IM still here. If your that worried see a real doctor, but 10 points over norm, every now and then when it can be what you at that caused it, again ID kill for what you have.

Your blood pressure can spike for a variety of reasons. Anxiety, pain, infection, the list goes on. Your doctor didn't talk to you about it when you were diagnosed? Hit wikipedia or google and look up hypertension or high blood pressure. I'm sure you can find some credible information.

You sir, are definitely a hypochondriac. Just do an advanced search for every post you have originated.

Im not saying its a bad thing, but it is true.

You're not a hypochondriac. You're just a sick bastard that's about to die shortly. Cheer up and eat some liver.
