I just got the best deal on a GTX 780

heh. the last two cards I had, the Titans, the shop where I bought them from here in Cinci was just some small gaming enthusiast shop.

They had two on the shelf. I asked about buying one at their retail price which was like $1200. Guy was like "Man, if you want both of them, you can have the second one for $500 if you buy the first one at full price just to get them off the shelf... they've been sitting there for a couple months now and no one seems to care."

I couldn't turn down that generous offer, lol.

Sadly, I didn't get the same deal on my recent upgrade to (2) 780ti's from amazon, but oh well. Not a averagely lucky kind of dude, so I'll take the opportunity whenever it arises. =D

What's the ASIC quality and RAM brand?
ASIC is 70.7%, not sure if that's good or bad but I can't complain since I am thoroughly satisfied with the performance and I haven't even overclocked yet.

That was a robbery, lol.

Nice deal. Wish I walked into those kinds of deals more often.
I was amazed I was able to get it too. The dude was very nice he drove it all the way to my house and waited while I tested the card (drain loop, insert card, fill, bleed for a bit).

I must say I was not expecting a performance jump this big, I haven't even overclocked it yet. At the settings I had Metro Last Light on my trusty 7970 chugging along at 40-45 FPS and at the same settings the GTX 780 doesn't even fall below 60 FPS lol. At stock it boosts to 997 Mhz when in Metro Last Light.

I got a refurbed EVGA directly from EVGA for $399 recently. Slapped a WB on it and its been great.

LOL... gratz

im also amazed at how many of u guys are watercooling.

seems like its really exploding on the gpu sector.

2 Sapphire R9 290X's for $720 total (X-Miners Elpida's) - They run in X-Fire under XSPC Water Blocks at 1180x1500Mhz @ +0.143Mv under 68C without throttling running Valley under full load.

You should see BF4 on a QNIX 2510 Evo II (Samsung PLS Dvi-D $300 Korean Display) at 120 Hz's ;o)

CPU is a an i7 2700K @ 4.8Mhz's at 1.35 v's with Samsung Green at 9-9-9--24-1T 1867Mhz's same voltage.
MB is an ASUS P8Z68ProV-Pro Gen3, PSU XFX 1050W Pro Black Edition BEFX - Water Fractal Midi ARC 2 Rig.

Idling at 35C for both CPU and GPU's and never going over 68C under full load = No THROTTLING and QUIET.

Back in December I snagged a new MSI gaming gtx 780 from newegg for $450 with a $40 MIR, and newegg gave me the Nvidia bundle at the time (Batman AO, AssCred 4, Splinter Cell) which I sold for about $35.

Why not: Considering you're spending approx $1000 on your Rig reaching exponential frequencies with low voltages and temps.

You wanta a List on How to Do It?

Yea, I can't wait till it comes in on Wednesday 😀 .

I am actually moving away from the watercooling. I am going to stick the reference cooler back on and move all my components to a compact chassis. Thinking of going with a Silverstone SG10. Watercooling is nice and quiet but aside from running benchmarks at high clocks and admiring the temperatures I don't really do much with them. My 24/7 overclocks can be handled by a NH-D14 and reference blower coolers easily.
