Wow, I feel pretty good. Every employee in the company I work for got a check for 10% of our annual wage. I work for a small company, less than 50 people. We had record profits this year, company gave a decent chunk of it back to the employees.

Ah the joys of working in a small company. Wait until you get bought out.

I'm hoping my "bonus" will be a job offer. Had a great interview Monday morning. Got a call back Monday afternoon from my recruiter saying they loved me and want to do a follow up interview. That is scheduled for tomorrow.

Nice. I had an interview Monday. It went all right until I got to the HR person. Her question to me was, "so, what would you expect to be doing here". I thought it was kind of an odd question, but i answered it. Her next response was, "No, I mean what challenges do you see yourself being a part of"? Ok, I wasn't sure how to answer that...I mean, it was for a continuation engineering position, so I just spewed what I knew some challenges of that position would be. She did not seem happy with my response....

I got the job 😀 Best Christmas evar!

We don't do Christmas bonus' but we do get a performance bonus around March I've usually gotten 10-13% of my salary. My boss gave me a $40 GC to a local restaurant out of her own pocket.

My mom got a $500 bonus... and she works at a fuckin' machine shop!

Do you realize how much damn money a properly run machine shop can bring in in a year? Do you realize how important the people who work for you are in making that kind of money? It is a time and quality oriented business so good people are imperative to good profits and worth a nice bonus. You have to treat your employees very well if you are going to get good productivity out of them and once you get someone who does you well they are worth rewarding well in order to keep them. Want to guess how I know?

I think that some companies, despite doing well this year are still using the "well the economy is really bad" line. Everyone remembers the bad years (2-3 years ago), so it's an easy way to save money.

Obviously been hanging out with Joe F's mom, duh.

A few years ago everyone at my company received the book "Execution" from our president.

That was our gift. Fuck you, buddy.

A few buttlicks actually read the stupid thing (or at least claimed to) and wouldn't shut up about it whenever the prez was around. I left mine in the garbage can on the way out the door.

Grats to her. What did her previous employer give her this year?

If you mean, "What did her previous employer give her while she was working with them?", I'm not sure. If you're asking what her previous employer gave her now... I don't understand.

I wasn't implying that she wasn't worth the bonus. I just know how much her wages are and I thought that it was a very nice Christmas bonus considering her job position. Perhaps I should have made my post more clear, as I can't express tone over text.
