I just want you to know that not all Chrisitans are like this guy. Whoever he is he really needs to think long and hard about his behaviour becasue it was not right.

I got the 13 warrior from my local for 50 cents.

I want to take a rare opportunity to agree with glenn 1.

Putdowns bother us because we believe them unconsiously hence the need to put him down in return.

<< what an arrogant SOB. Id be pissed as hell if someone told me i "looked like a sinner." is he jesus christ? does he pick out the sinners? if LORDMAUL doesnt understand why this would be offensive, lets put it in a different context. what if you were walking down the street and someone asked you if your mother was a prostitute...cause you looked like your mom was a whore. you'd wanna throw some punches too. >>

Heh, nope, sorry, I wouldn't. Not unless, of course, they were looking to fight. Then I would stomp their ass and waste as little time as possible.

But NO, I would NOT want to stomp their ass for acting like a dunce.

Bull, I would have been just as tempted to stomp him as if he had just punched me in the jaw, because that's what he just did to me metaphorically. But in real terms, it's hippocritical to say that you wouldn't give thought to punching him, honestly, it's a basic reaction and to say that the thought wouldn't cross your mind in near ludicrous. However, I must admit that I am not prone to fighting, but there are certain things that push me to the point that I would take action without thinking. I think that this man would be walking that line. I've debated my religion heavily, and I don't like blindly conforming zealots condemning me, especially in public parking lots.

When it comes to zealots like that guy, it's really hard for me to take them seriously and get offended in the first place. So I prolly would have just called him a crazy SOB and walked away.

Forcing beliefs upon another person is what gives christianity a bad rap...

Forcing beliefs on another person isnt just limited to christianity. Have you read whats going on in the Muslim countries like afghanastan?

I tend simply to laugh at such kooks. It does not bother me in the least what he thinks about me. I do not share his concepts of god or sin, his calling me a sinner has no meaning to me, it is gibberish, so why should I let him distrupt my day.

Since you are so upset by his words you must not be very secure in your beliefs. Perhaps you need to sort them out a bit, you just may be a closet christian. Take some time to reflect on what you do believe so when someone like this butts into your life you can look him in the eye and say "No, I am not saved nor do I wish to be saved, Good day."

Please continue your efforts to control your tendencys to violence, that is totaly uncalled for. This poor jerk has done you no harm, walk away with a smile.

Pagan to the bone.

But it's different, because my mom ISN'T a whore. I am, however (I believe), a sinner.

Why would you get offended?

If you beleive in sin, but don't think you're a sinner, you're wrong.

Otherwise, you don't believe in sin and the statement should have rolled right off your back.

Even if he did what he did in an inappropriate way (and it seems to me he did), he accomplished at least one of his goals. You've thought about your interaction with him. You've even posted it here. He succeeded. Maybe he was just trying to stir you up so you'd think about it.

It's not "Christianity" that forces beliefs on others. It's people who make bad decisions.

Besides, this isn't even "forcing beliefs," it's no different than that low-rider blaring curse-filled rap. In fact, those who would have him arrested/fined/shut up are forcing your beliefs on him. He has a constitutional right to do what he's doing, just like you have a constitutional right to do the same with your religion.

[edit]
Actually, I'm not sure he has a constitutional right to play his music too loud... And I don't have a problem with him having to play it lower. But if it's enforced, it should be enforced on everybody else, too.

Sorry to spam, but I just remembered another thing.

I was thinking about it recently and I'd be happy to do a calm, long-term, reasonable debate with anybody who'd like to. If you think you might like to, give me PM. If not, that's cool too.

Oh, wow epsilon...

You are speaking of the constitution... i did not know this was a trial...

I just think that he should be where he belongs, obviously he is not well, a psych ward might do him some good..

Forcing your beliefs upon someone is not a constitutional right, freedom of speech is, you obviously do not know the difference, so what is the point of continuing this discussion?

<< I got off work about an hour ago and stopped at the library to drop off a couple DVDs. >>

You can borrow DVDs at the library??? WHOA!!!

<< I walked by this one car where I heard this bloke listening to a local Christian station. I just looked at him for a quick second because the radio was so loud. As I walked pass, he got out of his car and asked me if I was saved. Something in me went into detroy mode and I wanted to make pieces of him on the spot! He told me that I looked like a sinner. I told him he looks like dog sh*t. We said a couple other things to one another and then both walked away. I can believe this phukO! I wanted to shread his @ss! >>

Just thinking about that happening makes me feel insulted as well. I have the urge to hurt him, but I probably wouldn't. I work at a store in downtown SF. There are a lot of loons there.

RossGR> You might of missed a response, made by my self, in my thread earlier. My resonse came about from something much deeper than what you claim my reason is. I had to move from my f*cking homeland because of Christian abuse towards people of my belief! Trust me, I am no closeted Christian!!! You hand me a Bible or cross and I'll give it back to you covered in something you would not like.

yasha, you are really pathetic. If the words 'you're a sinner' really offend you so much, then mabey YOU should check into a pysch ward.

I might have kicked your butt out of your homeland too if I saw you go around wanting to

<< make pieces of him on the spot! >>

,

<< shread his @ss! >>

to a Christian who asked you if you were saved.

You are a disgrace.

1) If it happened, then the Christian person acted poorly in continuing to talk about it after you expressed disinterest.
2) Your threats of violence are disturbing.
3) Personally, and I realize you won't care, I call complete BS on your story. Seems like a nice way to introduce us all to your hatred of Christians, though.
4)

<< I had to move from my f*cking homeland because of Christian abuse towards people of my belief! >>

Lovely - any details? Information? Anything? This really happened, didn't it?

I really didn't know that the USSR was a "christian" country that chased non-christians out of the country. I thought the Communist government pretty much hated all religion - unless it served to keep the people complacent and quiet. i'd like to hear how Christians forced you out of Russia.

Was this before or after you escaped from a Russian prison camp? (link).

Why did the "christians" persecute you all the way out of the USSR?

What exactly is your "beliefs"?

If you wanted to rant out your hatred against Christians, you could have just done so without the pretense.

Oh wait - you already have:

"I think alot of christianity is complete bullpucky and I don't think much of The Poop, oops, I mean the Pope. "

... all IMHO, of course. Hell, I could be wrong.

"You should get some psychological counseling if a bit of mild chatter by a religious-minded person leads you to want to become violent.... you have issues if you cannot negotiate a polite withdrawal from a conversation, be it from a religious person or anyone else. "

I dont think an attack on the order of being asked if I was saved (or being called a sinner) is mild chatter.

the guy was completely wrong in what he said and how AND where he approached you.
