Its to give you guys something to talk about. And my way of venting my frustration. Now that I am calmer I feel better.

I do have insurance, I don't want to get them involved because even though it wasn't my fault my insurance will go up.

My car is a 2002 Toyota Camry he had a ~2002 BMW 525i

Lots of people think I should have gone the way of insurance but it was a 5 inch scratch and maybe some unknown damage done thats not visible. My opinion not worth waiting 2 hours for isurance agent to get there. So i drove off.

Do you think I should call him back and tell him to pay me something?

Do not get insurance for a stupid 5 in scratch. Yes, your premiuim will go up, just not directly. What will happen is that you increase the number of accidents reported for people around your age in your area. That tells insurance companies that you are more likrly to get into accidents statistically. Good call on not reporting it if damages will not equate to more than $1000.

What should you do? Negotiate to have the person pay up front. If he/she does not want to, then threaten that you will get the insurance involved if teh price to fix it will be a burden on your wallet.

and hjo3 whats your problem? all I am asking is for some advice, if i walk away with nothing from this its no big deal. Its only a 5 inch scratch.
