I just got an apartment!

Don't forget you're not the only one in the building. Get to know your neighbors so it's harder for them to do rude things like play loud music at night and break/steal your crap.

Make sure to read the lease in full 2 times through so you know what the rules are beforehand.

Make your apartment your home... decorate it... give it a personal touch.

When you move in, walk through each of the rooms and check thoroughly for any damage. Document everything you find and take pictures. Be sure to report anything major.

When you move out, your documentation may help you keep some of your security deposit.

Even if you keep the apartment in great shape, you still won't get your deposit back. They'll find some bs reason not to refund it.

That depends on how much of a dick the landlord is. I've always gotten my deposit back before.

I think the point he is making is that if you suggest somebody is gay, the mods get offended. But if you suggest someone is straight nothing happens. He is noting that the mods are actually being biased in a sense.

But nobody really cares.

Yeah, $310 is insanely cheap. I'll take pics when I move in. I wouldn't call it a studio, but it's a one bedroom with the kitchen blended in. I plan on adding some personal touches....
