I knew I had to get a medical check, but not for HIV.

Actually in S. Florida (probably other areas during the housing boom) they stopped renewing leases and began selling apartments rented by average Joes'/students at $250k+ and investors were lined up buying them left and right. Some of these places I would never live (police blotter shows almost daily break ins)

Now they are rerenting them and owners are pissed.

So you can in theory buy an apartment, although most are and always are condos.
